That was back in the 1970's
...when F1 cars were tin petrol bomb coffins on wheels and the financial rewards were paltry, you had to be either really brave or just plain suicidal to get into one and race it at up to 200 mph.

One year a driver was killed in these same horrific circumstances on the fourth Sunday of four successive months.
