    This is the same method applied when using a lock picking device. The fork when modified as they did is very similar to a lock pick. You can get lock picking sets and try it out on locks yourself. It is very easy with most common locks. Thanks for the video.

      i don't think it is the same method applied when using lockpicking tools because in this method we by-pass the pin tumblar step and act directly on the locking device in the padlock.

      vidar has apparently never picked a lock in his life. when using actual lock picks you use a raking motion on the pins AND you need the tension wrench, it's a team effort. this guy is just doing a side to side motion all the way at the back of the keyhole with a single spike from the fork. not the same method at all. But that's only gonna work on those dollar store locks...
