Yes, his reasoning is faulty, but it's not like he is just turning 'not fail' and 'not study' into 'not.' He is simplifying the equations, wherein lies the faulty reasoning. Study(1+not)....if multiplied out, becomes 1 x Study + not x study = Study + Not Study; however, 'not study' is one variable and cannot be split into 'not' and 'study' as is in the video......that's my brief two cents.

(1 plus not) is a valid multiplier. It's logical translation is "do it and undo it" - sum of which is zero. Final step is not allowed because you're deviding by zero.
