One of the most important factors for the performance of your computer is an optimized hard disk. It can be defragmented using the Windows Defrag Utility. However this is a great hack that will make your WinXP to automatically optimize your hard disk when your PC is idle.

And what exactly does this do?
I could Google it, but I suppose more people would wanna know what this supposed trick will end up doing to their hard drive(s).

  When your PC is idle it will optimize the location of the files on your hard drive. The same as if you defragment it with Windows Defrag Utility.

You can also do this with Tweakui:
TweakUI > General > Optimize Hard Disk When idle.
and probably many other tweaking tools.
