  • Deer are different, but then...

    I am lucky. One reason is I get to spend a little of of some of my days with the wild deer. I don't think they consider me their "friend" or anything like that, it is more that I am just part of their environment, they are used to me being around. When I am not AT MY HOUSE, they do not recognize me and will not come near. Interesting beings, that they are. The "rut", or mating season, is very interesting. To see them every day, to watch the bucks fight for dominance, is interesting enough. But to then see the changes in the bucks, as the hormone levels change in response to the fighting results, is amazing. If you could watch their behavior day after day, as I have, and see them change, even become slaves to their hormones and unable to stop for weeks.     Whoever filmed this must be insane. Deer are dangerous during rut and this person was WAY too close!
