The Best Multiplication Method!

this methiod is much neater than the long methiod especially for big problems. It is faster to use the long methiod with numbers smaller than 1000.

i like this never seen it before maybe you could make one with three digits for me to see id be curious

I'm a teacher in NJ, USA--and this is how we teach multiplication using The Everyday MAth Program. We call it lattice multiplication. The kids love it, but sometimes have difficulty drawing the grid for larger numbers.

I study math and sure like this. I don't know if it's faster than how we learn in swedish schools, but at least I don't think it's slower.

when you come to the addition is better to start in the bottom right corner cause you may have to carry stuff.

I have never actually seen anyone else use this style. I recomend learning it, it's alot faster than the traditional way.

I learned how to do this in elementry, I try to show people this method, cause it's alot easier and saves space. I belive this method is called latis or something like that. it can also be done with three digits x two digits

Hey guys. Just to let you know if you're multiplying more than 2 digit numbers than start the answer from the bottom right and carry tens just like normal multiplication.

in our school we did that in year 5 at primary except a little different.

why you're trying to make the multiplication, which is something very simple, become something so complicated?

Lol omg this takes longer than just multiplying how they taught you in friggen elementary school...

The old method is much faster and simplier. The new method, even with practice, will take take too much time from drawing boxes, putting lines and adding up numbers, horizontally and vertically. We need to cut the time down not increase it! We need to move forward not backward. Math is science and precision, not Arts!

ps - as for the NJ teacher who touts this method here (sadly I might add), keep in mind this is also the same state that lets F*gs marry.
