Just because it has the Sold Secure or Thatcham 5 minute attack sticker on it, don't mean it will stop your bike being stolen. We used the same 42" Record croppers that Sold Secure claim to use in their testing of UK motorcycle chains.

  • Just to be clear.

Just need to make it perfectly clear that the reason I put this clip up is so that bikers know how much "insider knowledge" it takes to steal a bike. If you want to keep you bike safe at home, use a 16mm chain and a GOOD (I mean somethinf that costs £50 from a lock specialist) and a ground anchor. Anything above 16mm will need powertools or a noise sledgehammer attack.

  • D Locks

Only one problem with that, how do you secure your bike to a ground anchor with a D lock? I've chopped a whole loads of chains and without a doubt, the chain is the easiest part to crop. There are some pretty lame padlocks out there too but why bother when you can do the chain is seconds? I've seen D Locks with 16mm shackles go in a few minutes.

  • Simply.. Don't use chains!

Use the U Type steel bars (Basically anything bolt croppers can't open their jaws and grab on to )
Any chain... Crop at the padlock.. Easier!
