    I had to reformat my hard drive. ITunes being on my hard drive was lost. All my purchased songs, pod casts, videos, movies etc..

    I first copied my IPod to the folder as shown, then I downloaded ITunes I had to open each folder individually to put back on iTunes BUT I did not have to reformat my iPod due to it not being recognized, I did not lose any pod casts, I did not lose my songs just to reload them, I did not lose any videos or anything. I had to resubscribe to podcasts but so what I had all my back issues from before, and I did not have to look for them on the internet because they were put back in my iTunes..

    This is a great method of saving your iPod if you need to reformat your hard drive, or if you get a new computer or whatever.

    Not just for illegal “free” downloads, this is a legitimate way to save all your stuff.
