This is an overview of a training clinic I instructed at the National Ballet of Canada, where I introduced the basics of training for power. This type of training is useful for dancers, especially in ballet which involves explosive movements and partner work.
We covered:
-dynamic warmup
-importance of training for power
-exercise progressions for power movements
-triple extension
-kettlebell training
-other power movements such as plyo pushups and jump squats
