sorry .... but no it doesnt work....but....r ockbox is a open source project...so it means it is in a building process .... hopefully it should be compatible with the nano 2 in the near futures .....

the official site isnt available ...hopefully it should be back within few days.....try this ipodwizard site....

When I have to connect my Ipod then run the RIX.exe file it says that my Ipod is not connected and i keep trying but its not working. How are you saposed to connect it? Email me at

i dunno how to download any themes or games and does take up space. here email is peterlawson84@hotm.. plz add

for the themes:
1.goto this site : http://www.rockbox-themes.org/
2.click on your ipod model...
3.click on the theme that you like and the download should begin
4.after the download finishes open the theme file and install it anywhere e.g. desktop
5.after that open the folder and you should see folders like "backdrops", "fonts" right?. the same folder names are also in your ipod in drive.X:\>.rockbox\
6.just copy the folders and paste them on your ipod root\\rockbox folder....and if it askes you "do you want to overwrite" and click yes....and thats it
7.now just search on your rockbox (in your ipod) for the new theme....it should be in browse\themes

not sure what your are trying to say...but i think...u use another download software which automatically downloads files but you get an error when you download this rockbox file is it?....if so....then goto this another site

and somewhere in the middle do u see "download now"?..right click it and then click on "save target as..." i think it should download it with the default downloader....

for the doom game...rockbox doesnt automatically install the doom files like it does with other games....u need to download may be 5 files in wad format...look around the offifial site www.rockbox.org and look around the forum helps

currently rockbox doesnt support video with sound....only m2v videos...so u need to convert video files to m2v....
but dont worry....rockbox doesnt replaces your original ipod, you can use your original ipod software anytime, so you can always choose between rockbox and the original ipod anytime....and you can do this from your ipod buttons ....
as for the control funtions..there are lots...i mean...for the games it is different, for the menu its different , for the mp3 player its different....so just look around....

it doesnt show m2v files..i tried 100 times forget about it

or maybe you cant find the file on rockbox...

Are you absolutly sure that it only works on an I-Pod. I have a GoGear (nearly the exact same damn thing) and I've been wondering..

it works on ipod....not sure about gogear...see here for all the modles that this software supports.

while installing RIX.exe....which option did you choose?

use a mp4 converter to convert the video files to ipod compatible files....you can find tons of software ...just google it.....

if you have metal back side than it works on your nano...the new nano dont have metal covering the back

no, installing rockbox in your ipod doenst delete your ipod, but its better to keep a backup files of your music incase there is misunderstanding in following this tutorial.
just comment me your problem if you have any installing this software.

sry for my bad english.. i already got the link that u gave me and i got pass the part that it said "ipod has not been found" everything thing is goin fine but when the download is almost finish and it saids "now downloading and installing latest rockbox daily build. make sure your connected to the internet before continuing." when i clickd ok..its tryin to connect and then it said " download fail: file not found (404) aborting." im really sry to trouble you but i really appriciate your help..thank u = )

the tutorial from this video and the tutorial from the rockbox site are totally different.....for a new users who dont know much about rockbox i recommend you to follow the instructions from this video...

also try reinstalling itunes, reboot computer, and try again....

i followed the instructions properly just like the video.. u see the "tick" ... and the itunes reinstalled... reboot my pc and nothing... i have no clue... y have a 30 Gb ipod video...

when i wrote "u see the tick " i should say "I see the tick" is in disk mode...

you can only add doom and pacman to the current version of rockbox....look around the rockbox forum site for more informations.. www.forums.rockbox.org ..or just google search it.....

try rebooting your ipod....to reboot press and hold the menu and centre button for a while till the ipod restarts.

did you see a "tick" make sign in your ipod screen after doing the disk mode ???.....if no, then you are probably having problem with that....

this software works with all ipod except the shuffle, 2 g (generation) nano and the new 5.5 g ipod...
so....your ipod will definately work if you follow the tutorial correctly....
note: but if your installing this software from the official site than there is different process for all the models....

the installation method that your doing is way to complicatated for beginners and sorry i cant help with that

dont worry if your ipod has been damaged....mine also happened that....but u can again redo it...or you can permanently remove rockbox and all that will remain is your original ipod software (firmware)

if u dont see the music files ...then u must change the "show files"... for the doom and the pacman ...u need the wad files...which can be found on the official site or google it....rockbox automatically installs only the default theme...for the cool themes...goto rockbox site and look around....

heyy i need help i downloaded it .. but the problem is that wen i switched my nano to disk mode and connected it into my usb thru my computer it still says that no ipod was found

if you have the second generation nano then this software doesnt work on it....it works on the old nano
