    Im a porche lover but the Z06 has been tested many times agaist Porshe and Ferrari and Stangs and Gt's.... the Z06 always out beat them... This is the first time i havent seen one win.... It even out raced a Gallardo Stock Vs Stock... Blew the Ford Gt away, the porshe 911 turbo was right behind it to the top end where the Zo6 took the win... Thats the closest i have seen it and that test was proffecinally done my Car and Driver magazine... Top gear also shows the power of its 7.1 american power engine to... Corners isnt a probelm for it either with the newer models improvments... So there isnt much to rag on about it for its price, just the gas mileage S**ks ass, but its worth it :)

  • that was NOT a corvette

    it was either a heavily modified 3000GT VR-4 or a crappy NSX. The Corvette Z06, stock, is 505 brake hp, and is known to strattle a victory against the Porsche Turbo by a slight margin.

  • Interesting.

    I've always wondered how a 911 and a Z06 would compare. It's funny, the 911 costs twice as much, and carries almost half the weight as the Z06. But, even with roughly the same power output, their respective performance isn't THAT much different. I mean, I'd take the 911 in a cornering battle. But otherwise, I'd rather keep that extra $100k

      Sorry to say this guys, but the Vette even though it is useless in real life, is actually faster on a race track. This is because the Porsche has a heavy butt, and tends to understeer a lot. The Vette is more balanced. The Porsche also because the engine hangs from the back is better balanced in the straits (accelerating and braking) also AWD gives it an edge in the launch.

      the 911 is def. the superior car, but the z06 isn't bad for straight lines. in an actual race with turns though, the 911 would be a contender, but the z06 would be smoked.
