By melisandratemptingbr 1191435133 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethanks a lot for posting this up. I was having the same type of problem with my machine because I tend to forget my pw's i was careful and it worked easily thanks again for the tip
By Malokite 1167962980 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI did this, and Windows is still prompting a password for my account... Maybe I left too many fingerprints on the battery and now it has corrosed, gotta try again!
By kuume 1166469015 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethis thing works really well, my computer no longer asks me for passwords, it's great
By TuNis8 1167509364 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeits for the BIOS password not the windows password. And the "corrosed battery" thing is BS.
By SweatStringThing 1166476908 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThis will NOT Clear the "Windows" Password. In some cases it will not even clear the BIOS password. Just happens that it appears he has an old computer and it worked for him. Again this only clears the BIOS password not windows as he has stated. You can really do more harm to your computer this way. Be smart and make a windows password recovery disk, before you forget the password. Do a search for "windows password recovery disk" on the internet. That way there is no need to "Hack" your windows.
By OritronD 1166048307 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThough an interesting point... this will in fact work for most computers BIOS passwords and is a more then simple and effective way of removing it... So though your point is note worthy, if you had in fact forgotten and were not able to find your "windows password recovery disk" i think this as mentioned before is a fine way of resetting the password.
By SweatStringThing 1166051640 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIf you don't properly ground urself before handling the inside of ur pc than u might discharge (create a static shock) on the circuitry, and that would lead to some expensive replacement.
But none the less this is the easiest way to reset the BIOS is you lost or forgot your startup password. Just take care when doing it.
good tip

By CaptainXanax 1165875629 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removecan you trust a tech tip from a guy that can't remember his own password and nearly broke the chassis trying to remove the cover??
By sunnee 1165904546 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethis is only a demonstration of course i know the password, and this computer as i mentioned earlier is in ill condition... I'm only demonstrating where the battery is and what happens when its replaced... not how to open your computer.
By SweatStringThing 1165905633 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove1 to comment.....But thats not why.....
That's easy.
But there is one ting you need to know. Don't tuch the battery like that, you may decharge it when you hold it ( i said may).
And then you need a new one to save the change you do in BIOS. So please use something else....
This computer is in ill condition lol, naturally you would want to take far greater care in this process.
By SweatStringThing 1165875845 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI've never heard of discharging a battery by contact when there's no power to the machine...
By SweatStringThing 1165876470 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveDon't touch your nuts like that...they may discharge as well.
By moj.goat 1165887928 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethe video doesn't play
By Bishoy12867 1212480207 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveDon't handle the battery like that. Leaving fingerprints on the contacts of the battery, in this case the top and bottom, will lead to corrosion over time. If you pick a battery up hold it not on the contacts and wipe the contacts on your shirt before you put it back in.
By levelthreeninja 1166112116 Reply Spam [-2] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIf you handle it with care it wont be a problem... so don't throw it across the room or spit acid on it or anything like that.
By SweatStringThing 1166159095 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeyou're an idiot levelthreeninja!
