  • Well, in my opinion

if the movies on DVD did not cost so much, there would be less piracy and illegal copying and posting on newsgroups and torrents.
I can afford $20 for a DVD once in a while, but I can't afford to buy every new movie released, I have to pick and choose.
It costs less than $1 to make a DVD in mass production.
Charge less and sell more, make it affordable to everyone.

DVD Decrypter is no longer available from the official site. You will have to find it elsewhere. Last version was 3.5.4.0.
Also use AnyDVD to remove copy protection, especially the S**t used by Sony.
It is updated on a regular basis as fast as the copy protection scheme is changed.
You only need DVD Shrink if you have a dual layer DVD and only a single layer burner.
If you have a dual layer burner as I do, just rip the movie and burn it intact, all extras and features included.

  • AnyDVD or a similar program would also b...

Although DVDShrink works on most older DVD's, I agree that without AnyDVD or a similar program to strip out the encryption keys before hand, DVDShrink alone will not work on most newer DVD's.

    • DVD Decrypter solves this problem.

By using DVD Decrypter like the guide shows, the encryption should be able to be removed from almost any dvd.

  • Not quite true.

The company asked that DVD Decrypter was no longer produced by the developer and that they cease distribution of the current version. This however does not affect other sites that host the last version made, and the use of such software is perfectly legal.
