Math Isnt Perfect

ok the problem is that the final math order is all wrong the $2 dollars in the guys pocket should be subtracted to show the adjusted price of $25. here are a couple alternate versions that will make you see this

say the manager reduces the price to $26 instead of $25.
this would mean he gives $1 to each guy and pockets $1
then 9*3= 27+1=28
so we see 2 dollars missing

what if the new price was $27 so he gives back $1 to each guy and pockets nothing
9*3=27
and in this light you can see that you arn't suposed to add what he pocketed you are suposed to subtract it to get the adjusted room price

Ok so the price goes down 5 bucks, that means everyone pays 8.33, not $9
8.33*3 = 24.99 .............So what really happened is one guy paid 9, the other 2 paid 8 each. 16+9 = 25

You math teacher must not teach about decimals or remainders

The three men walk into the hotel with $30. They pay $30 for the room(s). The hotel manager gives them $3 back, so now the men have $3. The manager pockets $2. Since now they basically only paid $9 for each room, they paid $27. But they still have the $3, so $27 + $3 = $30. You CANNOT add the $2 because the $2 is already part of what they paid. Think about it. Math is perfect in this aspect, but it doesn't work like that.

He asked that Math isn't perfect. And I agreed with him, because if you try to analyse the equation one dollar is missing but if you will think it again using only common sense, nothing is missing. His point was MATH isn't always perfect, literally. OK!!!

i agree with dude22. the $2 are include in $ that they have paid. plus the $3 that the manager give them back, it will make total $30. even the 5 yers old boy know that!

The confusion lies with the fact that each man is returned money. Heres my situation, Three guys want a hotel room, to be honest this alone is a bit weird, they walk up to the cashier and ask how much a room is. He replies "$30" they say "OK"
The truth is that he had fitted their room with cctv cameras. He was only supposed to charge them $25 for the room but he says $30 to everyone in order to pay his rent every month. He then records the 3 men having the dirtiest most disgusting sex with eachother that he has ever seen. He makes a forune selling his tape to the gay porn industry and quits his job at the hotel. He buys a F**k off big house, paints it white and calls himself the president of the USA.

of these 28 $$$ 3 are returened to the 3 guys... wich mean what is left is 28_ 3 equals 25.

its not 3x9, if one bloke pays 9$ the others pay 8$ each = 25$payed and the 3$ they get back and the 2$ the manager keeps

Price Started at $30, rebated to $25. $25 dollars divided by 3 ppl, gives you $8.33 per person. Now add back to each one the dollar that was returned. $9.33x3= $28. $28 plus the $2 he pocketed. $30
