i am a radar operator for the us navy and can tell you #1 uss montana was a ship that existed 60 years ago and the dumbest radar operators that work for me can tell the difference between a ship and an island with a lighthouse on it by simply looking at the scope (and we have some dumb ones believe me)

This is such nonsense. Doesn't even conform to navigation practices common amongst yachtsmen let alone a professional Navy.
Every obstruction has a one or two nautical mile circle drawn around it. This "video" assumes no-one on the ship has even been in the Sea Scouts. The ratel procedure is all wrong too - not even commercial maritime standard. And vessels give way depending on who is to starboard, whether they are under command or not - none of this is established.
Also there are video cameras in the CIC/nav stations! And a ship's Captain would never address another vessel directly like that. If you believe this you are just a sad dumb F**k .

I remember reading about this in my history class in highschool. If you can't tell the vid was actors then you are a tool-box! However the story is actually real. You can find the real transcript between the ship and the lighthouse on the internet or just go ask a US history teacher.
