  • Extreme pilot errors? Not all of them!

    As others have said you should be careful to label all of these "pilot error".
    Especially a flight like the Etiopian Airlines flight 961 - the one that crashed in the Indian Ocean. That flight was hijacked and the idiot terrorists wanted the pilot to fly to Australia - from Addis Ababa - dispite the fact that it was well outside the aircraft's fuel range. The pilot explained that aircrafts only take on enough fuel to fly to their destination - Nairobi in this case - to be as fuelefficiant as possible by not flying around with excess fuel, but the terrorists didn't believe him. The aircraft simply ran out of fuel and the pilot had no choice but to try and land on water.

    The first plane was brand new and was being tested before being flown with pax. It crashed was due to a failure in its system. The chopper crashed due to ground resonance. The other entered a situation called "votex ring state or (settling with power)" a hazardous situation. Same thing with the V-22. Although, some of the others were due to pilot error. Like the B-52 and the rest.

      You are right... That flight was to test the auto pilot system.It was driven by a computer. But there was a test pilot inside the aircraft. The auto pilot system wasn't disangaged... That's what actually happend my friend....
