Just because the wind swirls doesn't mean its a tornado.

Reminds me of the dust devils in Arizona.

Mother Nature sure loves to mess around with those pesky creatures called HUMANS.

It's not a tornado it's a dust devil! And yes dust devils do at rare times do get this big and do cause damage. It's impressive but not a tornado!

That was cool. Didn't look like anyone was hurt either, that was good. I'm always fascinated by how quickly the comments on even the most simple video can become so hate filled. I'm not happy about it, obviously, just fascinated...and perplexed.

call these dust devil's or a sand twister, had these alot in south india before the monsoon season, have hot dry and dusty climate and u might just get these things

We have them here too (Québec) but they are much smaller.

yeah, #1, that is not a tornado. that is a dust devil. nice to have that clarified. #2, why must we call each other stupid all the time? have we no respect for anybody? Just becuase someone is wrong doesn't mean we have to call him/her a stupid shit or whatever. or a fuck up. you know what i'm saying? and yes, some people really ARE stupid, but.. it's not nice to point it out.

well i dont think thats a tornado coz im pretty sure if it was a tornado it wouldve been ALOT more violent then that! like i havent had a tornado here in australia but im pretty sure it isnt! tornados are formed from the clouds but in the video i saw dust coming off the ground and then it formed outta no where! i wouldve been scared though...

Looked like a giant dust devil to me. Not violent enough for a tornado. I've seen dust devils like that before.

tornado-a violent destructive whirling wind accompanied by a funnel shaped cloud that progresses in a narrow path over the land.

dust devil-a small whirlwind containing sand or dust.

F0-winds greater than 73 mph. Light damage. Some broken chimneys, branches broken off of trees, shallow rooted trees pushed over, sign boards damaged.

Conclusion-It's a dust devil.

seems kids around that area was familiar in this kind of dust devil, they are very very cool just looking and never run away, well the camera also tough.

I've seen smaller versions of this in Washington State out in the plains, but never this size. Wow. I was confused as to why the coach and kids were just standing there? I think I would have run away from the funnel. It's not a tornado, whoever said that already is right, but it's one of those dust devils I think. There are no clouds in the sky from which it would decend like you'd see with a tornado. Cool video though.

definitely NOT a tornado. Tornado do not form on the ground....they form in the clouds, and as is clearly evident in the video, there is no cloud at top of the "funnel." Previous comment that it is a "dirt devil" is correct. [also commonly called "dust devil] Not unusual sight in springtime in desert southwest United States.

the camera-person had great presence-of-mind to keep the camera running - you could've been slammed. great courage by the coaches to tell the kids to hit the ground. Just one of those things that might change the mind of an atheist...

In Denmark we never se these kinds of things! Thats was amazing. Just hope no one got hurt

well...tornados are ALOT more VIOLENT and this was onli a sand/dust/dirt storm...it happens alot on a sandy,dusty or dirt areas...but the way they ran was quite funny..and how they actually thought it was a tornado..wat idiots!!
