I criticize religious people because they have almost no role in stopping this phenomenon of forced marriages. This phenomenon is distorting Islam and causing long-term social problems. I am not criticizing Afghanistan as such but I am criticizing the Muslim leading figures who are not taking a decisive action against this phenomenon. I agree with you that I can find a similar case in my neighbourhood which shows that the problem is rampant and the actions against it are not effective.

Well, I agree with you that rich people in the Muslim world are not quite religious; however, they control, participate and donate to almost all the religious institutions. As for religious ppl, most of them are not rich, so they cannot donate there, and for very few of them who may be rich would donate to the poor in their own countries. Of course, they are against forced marriages and always advise ppl not to do that, but what if some ppl in some places don't listen? .. Don't go far, u can find the same problem in your neighbourhood..

Plus, if you listen well to the video, you'll hear that burning people is a bad act done by ppl who come back from Iran, the shiite-majousi country. So, it's not a specific Afghani tradition, but something which is brought to Afghanistan from Iran.
