Jazak allah khairan for this extremely useful video , it added alot to me , certainly i agree with u and the various meanings of ummi, yes allah enlightened the prophet who belongs to umm al qura Mecca as the prophet himself (puh) said that allah enlightened him well but before the prophet was ordered to begin preaching islam , he was illiterate as he couldnot read when Gabriel ordered him to do so in surat al Alaq & went to Khadihja shivering from fear .

The clear sign of the prophet (PBUH) able to read or write is solah-e-Hudabiya when Ali (AS) declined rasool-e-Khuda that I will not cut the word rasool from his trasncript, rasool-e-Khuda smiled and took the trascript and cut the word rasool by his own hand, my question is if he does not know how to read or write how could he cut the right word from the transcript.
