Gordian worms live inside crickets for long periods, feeding on the cricket's diet. Once fully grown, they inject chemicals into the cricket's brain, brainwashing it and forcing it to kill itself by jumping into water. Once in water, the worm wriggles out.

That's really interesting
to see that a parasite can influence an animal phenotype (at least behaviour). Kind of "controling" his host to lead him where it needs to continue his evolution.
The liver fluke does the same with the ant : it leads the ant on the top of the grass blades so it can be eaten by a cow, where it needs to go to grow further.

So... Are you guys certain that nothing is controlling you from inside ?
