Why are you people comparing hendrix to malmsteen.. I don't think you people even know who malmsteen is.. now don't get me wrong Hendrix was a Fucking bad ass guitarist.. and will always be known as a bad ass guitarist.. But Malmsteen as been claimed as the world's best solo guitarist.. You might wanna check shit out before you make stupid ass comments.

is subjective. The world's "best" solo guitarist is whoever it is to each person. To some, this is really great. To others, it sounds like crap, even if the technicality is fine. Maybe it should be judged on who made a positive connection with the most people with their guitar playing. If so, Yng wouldn't even come close, Hendrix would be way higher but still not "the best". How do YOU define "best"-- the most notes per minute? or?

Look, I've been watching videos on here all night by "so called" virtuoso's. This guy is nowhere even close to playing Yngwie note for note but make no mistake, THIS GUY HAS TALENT!!! I've played for some 18 years now and I know what I'm talking about. I've run recording studios and live sound all over this country. I'm not saying this guy is a guitar GOD or anything like that. I'm simply telling the truth. He's got talent, and if you can't recognize that, you woudn't know talent if it jumped up and bit you on the ass.

Many of musicans consider that Hendrix was a guitar genius and foreruner in rock playing. I agree with them. I'm learning play guitar in school music since 7 years. Easy, I know that isn't so much. If you're define BEST guitar player only because of his SPEED you're doing a big mistake. You must know that SPEED on guitar is THE SMALLEST PROBLEM. You must know too that TECHNIC is thing that you always can LEARN. It's just question of hard work by exercises. MOST IMPORTANT thing in playing is thing that you CAN'T just learn- it's your soul, that what you feel while playing, engaging heart in making sweet and sounds good music, and it depend on your tallent and musical. Remember that even FASTEST guitar solo devide emotions won't be valuable thing. ;)

Not sure what planet you are on dude, but Hendrix had one thing your fav guitarists will never have - ORIGINALITY. You have to appreciate Hendrix hit the scene in the 60s and nothing came close. Remember, you are comparing apples with pears, you cannot compare todays guitarists with what Hendrix achieved in the very short time he was alive. I just got done saying in my last two posts, that I take nothing away from the kids PHYSICAL ability. I know the hard work it takes to get to that point. I've done it, and I appreciate his ability.

Comparing Hendrix and Malmsteen is like comparing Muhammad Ali and Bruce Lee. Both were great, but had COMPLETELY different styles. The guys around today are just perfecting what Pioneers like Hendrix, Page, Alvin Lee, Eddie Van Halen, etc, all brought to the table. Paul Gilbert, Vai, Satriani, Malmsteen...ask each one of them who made them want to play.
