    Marissa as a character had too many problems. Marissa is gay, Marissa is in love with Ryan, Marissa is in love with Johnny, Marissa is in love with Volchok, Marissa doesn't like her mother, Marissa likes her mother, Marissa is in love with Luke... and so one. Her character was overwritten.
