Try using ZillaTube at http://www.zillatube.com
You can easily grab Youtube videos, and also convert them into other videos with good quality. Cool - Just one software to do all this.

Another thing people don't consider is trying to find the utube vid they want on other sites, like this one, and google video, that let you download right on the same page! Some vids are submitted to utube AND other sites that allow easy downloading.

There is a download button under the vid, so I'm assuming all metacafe vids can be downloaded directly. Google vids as well, thought they need conversion from mp4 if you want an AVI

All flash videos you view will be saved in your temporary internet files folder. all you have to do is let them load. and navigate to the folder. and there in there. no websites to visit or plugins to get.
also works with flash image galleries.
I don't know what Microsoft did for Windows 2000, but you just do not have any way to access the temporary flv file that is created when you view a YouTube video. You cannot copy it (access is denied, being used by another process). If you close the browser to release the process holding on to the file, the temporary file is deleted.

yeah your correct about that, I just found that this site in purticular would sit there and give me a server error. I use super video converter to convert my flv's into mov,3gp,avi,wmv,mpg etc.. it's free and rated very highly.

Get Firefox w/ Video Downloader plug-in, BAM your done, any video anytime!
how do you get the Video Downloader Plug-in?
go to getfirefox dot com and click on the "Extensions" link. Then do a search on Video Downloader. Install the extension, and you're good to go! The only thing that makes this video here cool though is that it actually converts the .flv for you. With the Video Downloader extension, it just downloads the flv file, and you have to download a special flash video player to view it. Great video and thanks for the tip!
