Hilary Duff went to a screening of "The Invention of Lying" held at the Tribeca Grand Hotel in NY as part of the New York Comedy Festival. The film was originally being produced under the title "This Side Of The Truth". It stars Jennifer Garner, Tina Fey, Patrick Stewart, Rob Lowe and Ricky Gervais who also directs with Matthew Robinson.
The movie is set in an alternate reality in which no one has ever lied. It stars Gervais as a writer who tells the world's first lie and learns to wield its power for personal gain.
It opens today, October 2, 2009, in the United States.
