  • Mercs are fantastic

    We currently have an SL55 AMG Brabus in the family, the nicest car ever! Very lucky to be able to go to work in one and be dropped of at uni in it.

    Although thats not to say that BMWs aren't nice cars.

      Series like Brabus can not be used as comparison to average off the floor models. Brabus is custom name as you know and its more then AMG. its like comparing 325 to twisted M5 Schnitzer package.

      After Mercedes left it's German ways of handling things and mutated with Chrysler thus resulting in Dymler Chyrysler, bringing down it's overall looks and standards to it latest merge.
      BMW on the other hand still assembled in Germany, privately owned company and quality and looks gets better and sets the design standard for all the other cars especially Japanese like to nibble on BMW design elements , especially Toyota Camry 2006 backlight /trunk design, door panels, total ripoff 5 series...

    BMW engines are still not as reliable compared to Mercedes. But for design, BMW is still better as their cars are more to the modern-age look. While Mercedes tend to keep the design more to the traditional, like mini. Their design don't seems to change a lot. Driving quality goes to BMW, engine goes to Mercedes. No point comparing them. Each of them has their own qualities. Naturally aspirated engines usually don't have such a good fuel consumption. Mercedes engines are more powerful and their experience in engine building are still far better than BMW. They are the one of the first inventor of supercharger other than Bentley. BMW invented turbo-charger. Mercedes engine are more longer lasting than BMW. Mercedes are well known for their safety. That contribute to the weight. Lighter cars are faster. But when come to crashes, just pray for the best. Engines dominates Mercedes cars while driving pleasures dominates BMW. Well, each of them has their own qualities. No point comparing them. Both produce great cars. =)

    well you can t compare mc laren with bmw or cls or sl and if it s amg like the E63 or 65 amr 6.3 never compare them sure bmw it s a great company the engine is always great 120 in 5.5 sec thats great but even that can t beat mercedes it s sport and classic and have a powerfull engine but hey everything from germeny is great allllllll bmw mini now it s germen porsch all alll are very great cars germen cars are the best

    untill the day I see a bmw create such a fine piece of machinery as such being the SLR McLaren I won't even consider them being in the same league. If you want to be a stupid little kid and think that it's all about the engine go ahead the SLR McLaren still kicks ass at 626hp but we all know that's not it. A car is not all engine, the people at Mercedes have realized that and kept the class, the style to their cars and added dozens of new features along the way. Mercedes are as good on the road as on track therefore have earned the right to become first in class.

    Mercs r ovr priced and not tht reliable compared to BMW. They are better at power but bmws power is naturally aspirated while mercs top end model are supercharged or turbocharged. Sure they normally quicker but just THINK. A M6 has 501bhp same as a SL55Amg but its lighter and will beat it to 120 everytime!!! Just me i have an M6 and the amount of SL55amg i race. Well i only lost once and tht was wen i l8r found out it was a 65AMG.
