Most people are not going to catch that, and you don't have to explain it for a third time to make yourself look smart... It wasn't meant to be accurate, it was just supposed to be a tricky thing to show the deceptiveness of some math equations.

Like he said, the two quantities in the parentheses will always equal zero, therefore, 2 * (zero)= 1 * (zero)
0=0, yes, that is a true statement.

2a^2 - 2ab is as writing 2a^2 - 2a^2 since a*b is a^2, so you can't divide by zero my friend. Easy stuff... same for the right side of the equal sign. 1(a^2 - ab) is a^2 - a^2... can't divide both sides by zero.
