    I am from San Francisco... compare THAT city to Kiev or Lviv!

    Lviv is the nicest city in Ukraine. I have lived here for 3 years.

    Comparing America to Ukraine is ridiculous, think about all of the sights in the states, landscape, oceans, mountains, etc.

    US Suburbia S**ks , and I HATE the government and police in the US... the people can be assholes at times as well.

    I've lived in Germany, Prague and Kiev... Europe is much more exciting than the states, much more culture too.

    Every time I back to the states it's only to make money... to return to Europe.

    And everyime I am there I long for the Eastern European women.

    Ukraine population: 46.7 million
    USA population: 300 million

    Ukraine male life expectancy: 64 yrs.
    USA: 77 yrs.

    Ukraine GDP/capita: $7000
    USA: $41,600

    Ukraine HIV deaths: 20,000 (out of 46.7 million)
    USA: 14,000 (out of 300 million)

    Ukrainians living below poverty level: 29 percent
    USA: 12 percent

    So, yes, you have some beautiful stuff in Ukraine (especially when you choose to compare it to the ugliest stuff here in the USA) but you have to look at the big picture.

    By the way, you forgot to include a picture of Chernobyl and the 30,000 sq. miles of irradiated wasteland it produced. Also, you forgot to mention Ukraine has one of the highest proportions of females making their living as prostitutes. Slip your mind?

      In the 30 km zone from Chernobyl the radiation is lower then in the city (Because the city absorbed the radiation, the forest died and a new one came).
      Yes, Ukraine is a rather poor country (not in terms of culture), it is like this because of the bribery in the government.
      Maybe you know that the rocket engineer that designed the rocket that flue (with Gagarin on board) to the moon, was from small Ukrainian village? Besides the were many other lunches but the pilot didn’t come back to the earth alive (although he was in space)

      So what can I say, most of the people love their country and been in another can only see the bad sides.

      I'm hardly one of those 'USA is number one!' morons. I think the USA is seriously f*cked up in a lot of ways - healthcare, obesity, concentration of wealth, saber-rattling. And I agree there are certainly more than our fair share of really stupid people here.

      But I'm wise enough to know that life is basically the same racket everywhere. There are trade-offs in everything.

      USA has lots of investment, many people owe its currency but half of them will ask for compensation of dollars (dollars as any currency, is kept by all government assets (gold land etc)) the economy of the country will collapse :)
