If I am sitting in a lecture that I paid for, I want to listen to the prof and not some idiot who will probably drop out before midterms yapping on his cellphone, disturbing the lecture I paid for. I commend the prof on his handling of that situation, quick, efficient, and to the point. :)

why professor didn`t treat your camera the way he treated the cell phone.if i was the professor i would havve slammed you dumb ass camera on the floor.

I would bet money that this was staged early in the semester to make a point.

If not, then why does the video stop without showing the reaction of the student? If there was no reaction by the student, why? Who here would not react... if you can forget for a second that you would not answer the phone like this douchbag...

The teacher rules the class, period. Students go to the class to learn, period. Students wishing to learn are not distracted, period. Students wishing to go to the class and as such, wishing to learn, are bound to the class/teacher rules, period.

In other words, if you go to class to play, you will be taught better. That's what this teacher did. I bet next time that smart ass student won't play in class, or his little friends, for the matter.

It was a bold move, to wreck the cell phone, but man, it was worth it. Even if he had to pay for it, it was worth is.

That'll teach these little pricks not to yap on the phone in classrooms, they should ban them in classrooms

Sure proff, but when I was at varsity I had classes that were 4 hours long......... if you can keep your students eyes glued to you for 240 minutes you one good teacher......... and if you can do that while teaching social science subjects like Philosophy, Sociology, History or Anthropology then you one gifted teacher!!!!!

Anyway......how disrespectful to chat while someone is trying to teach you + for all we know its the 4th call that day or this happens everyday........

He shouldnt damage his personal goods, and im pretty sure he had to replace the students phone + necessary compensation. A good professor would have singled out the student and asked him to stay behind etc.. for sex generally.

and you can't do that on the phone. If the Profrssor just took the phone away until the end of the class it would never have done anything. He would have been doing the same thing the next day. In braken the phone it put a dent in his pocket..

well i agree if thats highschool... but univeristy no.... i disagree... we students pay so much to be in taht class and it mostly goes to the teacher... the teacher teaches its the students fault that he or she wasting there time but it doesnt give any reason for the teacher to go "crazy" just cuz some guy was checking his phone O_O

Ok, the student shouldnt have brought the phone to class, but that doesnt give the professor the right to wreck personal property.
At the most the student should have gone to the director and then get a decent punishment.
If the student complained and with the video as proof, who got fuked was the professor.
