    But the coin seems to be hanging from the magnet instead of lying flat and out of sight.... Are you using a real coin ? (obviously it wouldn't be American, Australia or as far as I'm aware British.. but maybe some country has a magnetic coin ???) otherwise, you're using a gimmicked coin which has a magnet placed inside it... if so, you're using a bad quality magnetic coin... it should lay flat !!! the magnet may be off center or too big !

      Some coins, such as the Canadian nickel, are magnetic. Nickel is not as strongly magnetic as steel is, but you can pick them up even with a common magnet.

      I suspect that this trick used a rare earth magnet. They are very powerful for thier size.
