I have faith in God, but faith is the evidence of things unseen. We hope... but we only see a glimpse. We hope we have it right don't we, but when will we know for sure? When it's too late to do anything else about it, right? So, yeah, I hope I have it right... I am confident in my salvation in Jesus Christ but I will only have that confirmed on the other side of this life.

I think Peter was scared to be associated with Jesus who would be beaten all the way to the most horrific and humiliating death sentence practiced in that day. I think it is unfortunate that he didn't stand firm, but I can't hold it against him.
