Ingredients im guessing, was a glass bottle quart filled with water and sodium hydroxide (an alkaline)

When mixed with water, the sodium hydroxide reacts with the aluminium foil you see the guy put into the bottle, and forms hydrogen gas from the chemical reaction, since acids and alkalines eat certain metals.

Just like an acid though, it can leave severe burns and is not something you should play around with.

Pure hydrogen burns silent. But Hydroxy from water (HHO) will rupture your ear drums and set you on your butt.

I would apreciate it if you wrote the chemical reaction and some safety measures,because I want to try it myself......but I don`t know what the EXACT chemical reaction will be (tho I guess,that it has something to do with the oxigen ions connecting to the more active sodium and some exotermic reaction with the less active alluminum creates heat for the forming of sodium dioxide...I don`t know...).

In electrolysis. Almost anything can be used as an electrolyte. An electrolyte is anything which allows a liquid to become conductive. I have used salt, baking soda, vinegar, and a whole bunch of others.
as long as it can make a good electrolyte then your all set.

the magic ingredient is lye like what you use to clear a stopped up drain. i wouldnt recomend anyone trying this. speaking from experience (done some stupid, yet fun stuff as a kid), these fumes are highly toxic, and the mixture is highly acidic (it can burn you to the bone in seconds, given the right circumstances). if you do decide to experiment, i cant stress enough to be extremely careful.

I also came up with this balloon idea, but I was trying to create hydrogen using electrolosis, but i couldnt get the necicary Sulfuric Acid to start the reaction. I will try this though. Is the active indredient in the Drain Cleaner NaOH? Because I heard that caustic soda works.
