    his face is like that because he's full of concentration. I do martial arts and whenever i perform something like that i have to be in full concentration and release the speed and strenght as maximum as possible, only that way i can get the best. When i see my friends or teachers perform they also do such thing, and when they do that their face always look like that. So he's not a disturbed kid.

      The screams are called Kiais. They let you put more force in your attack. But they're not "screams". They are just a "Heeyah!" sound.

  • Martial Art is exactly that - ART

    Everyone, whether an adult or child, who takes martial arts training is schooled on the importance of respect for self, respect for his sensie, respect for the dojo and equipment (which includes the room they work ouot in) respect for others, and most importantly, respect for life. The yelling is part of the tradition of the arts. The weapons are also part of that tradition. They are NEVER to be used outside of the martial arts ryu, or school. Any student who becomes a bully outside of their dojo, is severely repremanded by their sensei and put on probation. Wayne Dalglish has an athletic resume' that can put most of you to shame! Check out his website - I've already posted it onto this forum. He is already a champion diver, an expert in martial art weaponry, and has many acting credits under his 'belt', as well. He is, by far, more disciplined than many of us could even hope to be.

    For anyone to fault this young man are only doing so out of jealousy - and nothing more.

      Well, the other comments were so blatantly wrong and cruel that I had to say something in defense of this young man. I have his website under my favorites right now because he seems like a well-raised boy. Actually, he's about 15, now, and has a younger brother who is also part of the martial arts sect. Both brothers are actors, too, with the younger one featured in Motorcross Kid. Wayne, though, did that Star Wars 2 commercial, where he played this kid who gets sucked into a fight scene with a light saber. I think it's a Frito Lay commercial. It's pretty cool. He was also in the television show, The Guardian. His website has clips from all of these, btw. All of his siblings have been home schooled as well. They are from a very involved and dedicated family. No chance for any of these kids to go wrong. That's the way to do it, too.

    Tremendous feat for an 11 year old boy. He is learning many things including, self disciplne, self control, coordination, dedication,focus,and,awareness of self. All of which will help him be a responsible adult. You have to be able to look beyond the "fighting" aspect to see more important things

      anything about martial arts. The first lesson taught in Martial Arts is that violence is not the way to anything, except trouble! Then self-discipline and self-control are taught so the student doesn't become a bully. The fighting skills are an absolute last resort for self-defense. Try doing a little research before you start judging people and their skills!!
