    Virtual desktops have been a staple of graphical unix workstations since before even Win95 existed (the earliest I remember). It still boggles my mind that Microsoft never built this into the OS. I guess they're too busy including DRM.

    I can only hope, for their sake, that you don't have to actually click on the buttons and can just use a keyboard shortcut to switch between them.

    At least it's a start.

    If you already have a NVIDIA graphics card or chipset you will probably have the option to use a tool within the driver/software, it is called Nview; this gives you the option of extra desktops etc.
