    it is very powerful, if you know what you're doing...this is definitely not a tool you'd recommend to grandpa who's can only figure out how to open his email :-)

    Thx Cookie for another good tip ... It works well erring on the side of caution .. even picked out MetaCafe as a suspicous app ... I guess you just need to have some IT knowledge b4 you go clicking the stuff it says to fix ... but for the uninitiated its a probably OK. ...

    Like I am going to download a program from a site called "HIGH JACK THIS"...Sounds like a way for someone to hack my system. Plus I can remove ALL spyware, adware and malware with a few simple steps using AD-AWARE SE from www.lavasoft.com

      If ya think Adaware removes all your problems you are going to be disillusioned one day .. I use it also but then I also run Spybot and XoftSpy as well as the usual virus checkers. You'd be amazed what Adaware misses. The Hijack app works fine and is not a rogue app its just another tool in your amoury; the more the better.
      However if you are not comfortable using it or are inexperienced then stick to Adaware till the day you hit that brick wall ... btw I am an IT consultant .. so I might know what I am talking about ...

      I want to thank everyone for their replies to my un-educated post. I am also glad that no one talk to me like I am a fool. I do use more than just AdAware, I also use antivirus programs, windows cleaner and I often use an online antispyware tool that I don't have to download. So hopefully I never have a problem. I have friends that are IT consultants and a couple of friends that are with the GEEK SQUAD if you are familiar with them. They say that everything I do to scan my computer is good and should help keep me safe but nothing is 100%...So lets hope none of us get anything bad on our computers.
