It is not magic.........

Let the numbers be W,X,Y,Z.

Then:

W (X-W) X

(Y-W) (Z-X)

Y (Z-Y) Z

Now the middle number would be same, whether u calculate it horizontally: Z-X-Y W, or vertically: Z-Y-X W.
