Alice, now a young woman, runs away after discovering a rich suitor is about to propose to her in front of hundreds of high society guests at a party. She follows a white rabbit down a hole and enters Wonderland, a place she once visited as a child but no longer remembers. Initially confused by this fantastical world and its inhabitants who seem to know her, Alice soon accepts that her true destiny is to defeat the tyrannical Red Queen and liberate her Wonderland friends.

Director Tim Burton (Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sweeney Todd) reimagines this classic story with characteristic absurdist flair. Of course, most of the talk around this film focuses on Johnny Depp's role as the Mad Hatter -- his seventh collaboration with Burton. Also starring Mia Wasikowska, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Michael Sheen, and Alan Rickman, this movie looks like it has a lot of potential!
