    The Hiroshima bomb was dropped using a parachute. The bomb was not in a free-fall as the video depicts. The parachute gave enough time for the U.S. bomber to fly to a safe distance before the detonation.

    I watched this program on television today in Korea, but they cut to the credits right before the bomb hit. Don't know why though, since Korea is very bitter towards Japan, even to this day. But then again, Korean television is very concervative about what it airs... especially when the sun is still out.

    The Germans had V2s that could deliver nearly a billion Joules of energy, the Japanese were using Baka bombs that put out about 1/4 the 1.2 billion joules of the Hiroshima bombs, and had used them against americans MANY times. Moreover, the Japanese had killed 800,000 in china, 600k in indochina, 400k in the phillipines. If you ask me, they richly deserved to have MORE than 2 bombs dropped on them.

      If Iwo Jima and the Battle of Okinawa was anything to go by, an invasion of Honshu would have been a blood bath. Millions would have died.

      My dad fought in Okinawa and it was a horrible battle with 200,000 out of 500,000 Okinawans killed. The Japanese military sacrificed the Okinawans, used them as canon fodder and hen forced he survivors to commit mass suicide. The same was in store for mainland Japanese.
