you remember what Imperial Japan did to Korea, China, and the Philippines ? Japs soldiers were allowed to kill at will, people were burned, disected, raped, etc.. The enemy we were fighting at the time (Japan) would never have surrendered. They would have fought to the end to their deaths. To win the war with dropping the atomic bomb would have meant an invasion such as in the European front such D-day. The atomic bombed saved hundreds of thousands of American soldiers lives. The loss of innocent life is always regretable but their isn't any two countries borders in the world that isnt covered in blood. It was war we did what we had to do.

The atom bombing was not "unlawful use of force" as the U.S. and Japan were in a declared war. It was meant to speed the surrender of Japan and bring peace and end the terror of Japan in its imperial war.

I lived in Korea for many years. they absolutely HATE the Japanese for the horror they put the country through during their occupation of Korea from 1911 to 1945.

If the US were to attack Iran than they might use it against Israel saying 'hey, it was our only way of defending ourselves from the americans'. Do you want that?

If Iwo Jima and the Battle of Okinawa was anything to go by, an invasion of Honshu would have been a blood bath. Millions would have died.

My dad fought in Okinawa and it was a horrible battle with 200,000 out of 500,000 Okinawans killed. The Japanese military sacrificed the Okinawans, used them as canon fodder and hen forced he survivors to commit mass suicide. The same was in store for mainland Japanese.

The Japanese used WMD - chemical and biological weapons to wipe out entire villages in China in WWII. Some 300,000 died. Abandoned chemical weapons are still killing people in China. Hitler was working on an atom bomb and had the V2 to deliver it.
