Claireece "Precious" Jones (Gabourey Sidibe) struggles to change her life after she is invited to attend an alternative school so she can get her GED. Angry, abused, obese, illiterate, and pregnant with her second child, Precious must overcome impossible obstacles in order to realize that she can hold on to some hope.
