Millions Of Lights Create Holiday Magic At Disney-MGM Studios

November 2006 (Medialink) - You know the holiday season is here when the Avenues of the Americas at Disney-MGM Studios sparkle with five million holiday lights. This year, the much-loved tradition gets a dance lesson of sorts... Sylvania has partnered with Disney to enhance the display by choreographing the lights to swirl, twirl and soar to a medley of holiday music. Thanks to more than 400 dimmers and some electrical wizardry, every building facade, all the trees, wreaths, bells and holiday figures dance their way through the evening - bringing Disney-MGM's back lot to life.

The Spectacle of Lights has its origins in Little Rock, Arkansas. That's where Jennings Osborne began decorating his home with lights back in the 1980s as a gift to his daughter. Over the years, the display grew and grew and grew ... as did the lines of traffic coming to see the display. After some neighbors complained about the lines of cars and the case wound its way to the Arkansas Supreme Court, Osborne was ordered to pull the plug on his sparkling creation. Disney invited Osborne to bring his display to the Walt Disney World Resort for all to enjoy. The display is now in its 11th year - though this is the first year Sylvania has added "dancing" to the celebration.

The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights, presented by Sylvania, is set to dazzle folks through January 7, 2007.
