  This is the dumbest sucker video yet. Metacafe is full of people who think they have become hackers doing something in the command line that they can do in the GUI. Log in with a limited user and try this. Any admin can change any other admin's password.

if you are already an administrator, you can do anything with other users. Thats why are you admin. So it's not a big deal.
And it's duplicate, you can find a dozen videos about this net user command on metacafe.

Try logging on with a limited user account and see if this works. Ridiculous.

Wow some discovered the command line to do something you can do in the control panel or Adminstrative Tools (XP Pro)

Actually it DOES work in the guest account. i have had to use the to reset my password when i forgot it. This will work on any account on any computer. Please do not use this to hack someones computer.

HAHA! Try this instead. Easyer! (requires admin rights, as it does in this vid)

Open Control Panel. Click Change an account. Pick the account you want to remowe the pass on. Click Remowe Password.

Then on the Windows logon screen, the admin acount is called "Georgre" with an extra "R" in the name?????

Garbage
Just as everyone else has said this is a completely garbage video. The user "Smith" is an administrator and as such has the ability to change other user passwords, even administrator passwords. The net user command will not work for a restricted or standard user. If you want to try to be "1337" like the 2000 kids that I deal with daily try breaking the encrypted SAM file outside of the GUI and substituting the hash with your own to change the password or even better, try brute forcing. You will find it much more difficult.

disable guest account, and set policy to lock all the accounts indefinitely, set password lockout to 1 time/s, lock yourself out of Administrator, restart, and try log in. Then make a video on how you got in, and I'll call you a pro. ;-)

D3stiny is right. If you're an admin, you can change, or remove passwords of other users, including other admins. You're not bypassing the admin if you're an admin, genius.

Go back to noob school and read up on user permissions.

while you are outside of the desktop? I mean when you turn on the computer and it asks you for the password.

- I think it meant
  for switching user context, i.e. you have a non-admin account on a system and want to switch to an admin context but don't have the password for an admin account.
  Windows XP is not all that good at preventing users elevating their privledges There's a good video on metacafe on how to get an explorer session running with "system" privledges.

  You cannot elevate priviledges with this. You have to be an admin first to clear another admin's password. A non-admin account can do nothing but change it's own password.
