Classical evolutionary cosmology has the universe coming into being through a giant explosion of matter and energy called the Big Bang. The question that modern physics has struggled with for years asks whether there is enough mass in the universe to cause it to stop expanding at some point. Would the universe begin to collapse in on itself at some time in the future only to produce a second Big Bang?

In 1997, researchers announced that not only is the universe expanding, but also it is expanding faster now than it was shortly after its creation! The finding was based on the fact that very distant exploding stars are much dimmer than expected. After more than two years of further research and dozens of observations, scientists are beginning to agree that the universe's apparent expansion is increasing. Researchers' inability to explain why has led them to conclude that they don't have a theory about the universe that works. One researcher referred to this problem as "the biggest embarrassment" in modern physics.

So next time you hear a scientist speaking with certainty about the Big Bang, the age of the universe, or how it might end, you will know that, in truth, such certainty does not exist in the halls of science. For all they know, the universe could keep expanding until it dissipates like a puff of smoke. But we know from the Bible that the universe will end when our Creator returns to take those who trusted in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior home to a new and perfect Heaven and Earth.

    I will now take your own words to explain your foolish ideas. Lets first take the following statment:

    But we know from the Bible that the universe will end when our Creator returns to take those who trusted in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior home to a new and perfect Heaven and Earth.

    What is wrong with this picture? Didn't get it right the first time? Just another foolish statment.

    I would also like to know the name of the scientist that you are taking their theory from. Because this is one (maybe) scientist interpertation but not any of the scientists that I have read.

    One more thing, the Hubbel is as we presently speak taking photos of one universe colapsing and another of a universe becoming of its own.

    And one last thing why are bible people always trying to match science and what is written in the bible? Can't it stand on its own?

    Just as an added fact is when the bible was written people thought of the small area of earth (they didn't even know the world was round yet) with NO telescopes and no consept that there are gases that form all matter and antimatter in the univrse.

    So stop trying to preach here.........and learn more before you speak about science and real facts.

    Under the current laws of physics, yes.

    However, the big "bang" was the breakup of a singularity where all the universe and its compotents were nigh "infinitely" condensed.

    As it "unzipped" to use my luggage analogy, the forces of physics began ripping apart from the "Super force".

    Gravity was first, followed soon by the other three the Strong, Weak Nuclear forces and electro-magnetism.

    The universe always "was". Just not in the way we know it.

    Scientifically, that's not possible.
    There cannot have been an infinite amount of time behind us, because infinity is not a real number.
    Also, if you know anything about the second law of thermodynamics, then you know that the universe would have died from heat death long ago- if it was infinitely old.

    The universe always was. The Big Bang is a term from a pastor or priest who wanted to make fun of the concept.

    In reality, it's a glorified scaled up example of how an unpacked suitcase taking up much more room than it seems you could fit in one.

    All matter was here all along. Just very super compact till the zippers broke.

    Still, where did that matter come from?

    Who is the creator's creator?
