  • Pretentious name

So, what we have here is an adjustable box-end wrench. It is an enormous stretch, from an engineering standpoint, to use the word "kinetic" to describe the function of such a wrench, but what the heck has "hydro" got to do with it at all? Is the wrench water-powered? I didn't see any hoses. Is it hydraulic? Again, no hoses.

because it contains fluid in the handle. Actually quite clever because fluid being non-compressible, can be stopped and infinitely adjustable with just a tiny valve. On the other hand if the sliding bar in the middle was solid and not connected by fluid, it would require a very large or strong locking mechanism to keep it place.
Google before you rip on the product.

Okay, perhaps I prejudged a bit too harshly; there is so much crap out there that I guess I am conditioned to respond with skepticism.

I would say that using the incompressible nature of water is a fairly clever means of creating adjustibility. I would say that it could probably have been achieved more economically and just as effectively with a threaded adjustment (whose o-rings will not eventually fail and leak out the liquid), but the water is a fairly elegent means of making a simple tool more interesting.

I think it's a clever idea but I wouldn't buy one. A set of open box or ratcheting box wrench IMO is much more efficient.
