that one should be in the producer awards.
By Ashtonsantiago 1168138271 Reply Spam [+101] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveFrom a fellow Texan, thanks for sharing this. I would never guess that a rabbit would own a snake. Was that a rattler? If so, the rabbit will (sadly) probably die from the venom. She was probably protecting her babies. That was great video. Wish we could see more like this one....it just shows we can be entertained without trash & profanity. It reminds me of the one on here where the cat jumps out and scares the heck out of a black bear.
By pottershand 1168189183 Reply Spam [+11] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removei love his laugh when the snake tried climbing up the tree haha made me laugh
By pave7 1168389902 Reply Spam [+4] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removetheyre called rattlesnakes for a reason. just because its in the south doesnt mean every snake is a rattler
By carolinapanthers10 1171819090 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveLook Mr. Wad, the quality of the video was so poor, it was hard to tell it was a snake and rabbit.
By KLBSR22150 1246297219 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveA rattler can have 2 or 3 buttons and you will not see them unless you have Superman vision....or if the snake will be kind enough to hold off striking you while you get close enough to look. They also shed their skin several times a year and are without a rattle for a while after this shedding. The skin pattern looks like a rattler.
By pottershand 1171828262 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removebefore assuming the rabbit was hurt. Given the energetic leaps by the rabbit, if the rattler's teeth actually engaged the rabbit, it would tend to pull the snake with it. It did not. The neurotoxins in a rattler tend to stop their prey, not make em methlike, otherwise the snake would be harming itself to bite its prey, no?
By Mr.Science. 1168208806 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveRattlesnakes, copperheads and watermocasins all have HEMOTOXIC venom. The only North America snake with a neurotoxic venom is the coral snake.
By mjollnir41 1173676077 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveCool insight. I have yet to be bit by any poisonous snakes so I was not hip to this fact. Good Call!
By Mr.Science. 1173717787 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWhy must everyone assume it's a rattlesnake? They're not exactly an arboreal species you know!
By snakedude 1168231139 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThat it was not a poisonous snake, as they are not usually this fast. I shot myself in the foot assuming again; Technically, this is nothing new. I did not shoot the video, it is hard to tell if the head shape is like a rattler/moccasin sort of viper; I just posted it. I tried to get the gal who fwd'd it to me to find out where it came from, so I can turn the guy onto producer awards. He richly deserves some. This amount of comments and yet so few profane, selfish angry hate comments. I am proud of the energy such an innocent video engenders. Metacafe actually has a human, non warring populace. Thanks for responding. A coworker today found out he has leukemia, he is younger than I am. These comments are reassuring for sure.
By Mr.Science. 1168317260 Reply Spam [+4] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYeah this was filmed in texas but there are other snakes in texas other than rattlesnakes. So next time before you decide to go ranting about the subject first figure out what your ranting about.
By tobers 1175048035 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removei was thinkin jack rabbit when i read that, i've never seen a cotton tail do anything even remotely interesting..they just run
By GuitarM252 1168206058 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removei expected the rabbits from texas to be much bigger.
By avgjoe 1168248180 Reply Spam [-2] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI got this from Dee in Texas; it is no fake. I asked her to help me find the videographer responsible for this clip, it was not mine. She ignored me. It is now on google video with 291 views; I commented there hoping the original video'er might see how much passion has been poured into his work, that he might be paid via the producer's rewards program. He is due. The fake Christian she pretends to be, who liked it and sent it on, gave no attention at all in seeing him be compensated as he should be. Please- I want him to be accounted for. This is precious, he is due.
Anyone want to disagree?
when they say "Dont mess with Texas!"
By OriginalMadman 1244679707 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveGo away. This is a family friendly video, not your billboard for graffiti. Comment on the video or be removed in 24 hours or less.
By Mr.Science. 1174582235 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIt is because most animal with babies tend to be aggresive. Most likely the rabbit has babies somewhere nearby. So it is merely trying to protect it at all cost.
By mastersurf 1172587812 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveTo this end I just put out a probe so that the folks who got this prescient video ought be paid for it.
By Mr.Science. 1168145218 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveA coworker saw this and said thats where she saw it first. My wish is that the filmer sees it here and I will tell them how to claim producer rights, that they make some well deserved, family friendly money. There is more gentle insight in the comments here than on most videos on Metacafe; I am proud to have been part of this forum. Glad you all enjoyed it as I did......

By mapleleafan117 1168276610 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI believe it's a bull snake or a similar nonvenemous species. At the beginning the snake doesnt move like a rattler who move in a straighter line. And rattler's aren't the type to go running into trees; they would more like go into holes or under rocks. There is no rattle on the tail but it looks like it's vibrating in a similar fashion, just as Bull snakes do to imitate rattlers. It's an easy booboo to mis-ID a snake if the creator of the vid doenst know about them.
Either way, the clip is hilarious.

By SgtTaz 1168240985 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removetexas rabbits DO rule
By mostwanted269 1168240965 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveInteresting video. The most likely reason for this unusual behaviour would be that this rabbit is trying to drive the snake away from some baby rabbits. Mother animals can be very aggressive towards predators when the young are nearby.
By x234 1168220320 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThough the video shooter assumes it is a male, a male has much less at stake here. Her cunning revelation to get the rear and attack reinforces this notion. Rattlesnakes are not as strong nor fast as many non poisonous snakes; they dont need to be, they are poisonous. This snake became aware of its weaknesses here, and thus took flight.

why can't we just focus on the fact that its a funny vid instead of getting all technical about it. i know you guys are smart but don't shove it in the rest of us viewers faces.
By co147 1170133240 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIf your focus is offended, feel free to let it go as we do in offering this video. You can certaily try to Control all these viewers yet that conceit may be a dissapointment. Just as a gentleman, most folks don't want to be talked down to nor told what to do or what is expected. By you for example. Feel free to not watch a controversial video. Don't go blaming that which has not taken place without risking looking stupid online. Have a nice day, sir.
By Mr.Science. 1170136375 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removefirst of all i respect the fact that you havent resulted to insults like most of the users on this sites. however i am inclined to believe that you didn't read or do not have a clear understanding of the video. i was not in anyway offended by the video i thought it was hilarious, i just thought that most of the members who commented were taking it to scientific. no one who misunderstood the comment is entitled to listen to it and why i am undoubtedly not the smartest of fellows i don't consider myself stupid. once again i hope that you would actually read what someone writes before resorting to name calling.

Thank you for turning the other cheek. Perhaps your smellier one. I actually am seeking the videomaker so they can reap the $2000 or so their work is due. A Baptist who used this video, sent it to me, ignored my search back through their email. I guess since it was not money for them that had them ignore my request.
Where did I suggest anyone not submit videos or enjoy them here? I will not sink to your pathetic level and call you profane names. I am glad the world can witness your Godly response. And utter Ignorance. I rest my case.
