Some snakes just don't rate down south.
that one should be in the producer awards.
By Ashtonsantiago 1168138271From a fellow Texan, thanks for sharing this. I would never guess that a rabbit would own a snake. Was that a rattler? If so, the rabbit will (sadly) probably die from the venom. She was probably protecting her babies. That was great video. Wish we could see more like this one....it just shows we can be entertained without trash & profanity. It reminds me of the one on here where the cat jumps out and scares the heck out of a black bear.
By pottershand 1168189183i love his laugh when the snake tried climbing up the tree haha made me laugh
By pave7 1168389902theyre called rattlesnakes for a reason. just because its in the south doesnt mean every snake is a rattler
By carolinapanthers10 1171819090Look Mr. Wad, the quality of the video was so poor, it was hard to tell it was a snake and rabbit.
By KLBSR22150 1246297217A rattler can have 2 or 3 buttons and you will not see them unless you have Superman vision....or if the snake will be kind enough to hold off striking you while you get close enough to look. They also shed their skin several times a year and are without a rattle for a while after this shedding. The skin pattern looks like a rattler.
By pottershand 1171828262before assuming the rabbit was hurt. Given the energetic leaps by the rabbit, if the rattler's teeth actually engaged the rabbit, it would tend to pull the snake with it. It did not. The neurotoxins in a rattler tend to stop their prey, not make em methlike, otherwise the snake would be harming itself to bite its prey, no?
By Mr.Science. 1168208806Rattlesnakes, copperheads and watermocasins all have HEMOTOXIC venom. The only North America snake with a neurotoxic venom is the coral snake.
By mjollnir41 1173676077Cool insight. I have yet to be bit by any poisonous snakes so I was not hip to this fact. Good Call!
By Mr.Science. 1173717787Why must everyone assume it's a rattlesnake? They're not exactly an arboreal species you know!
By snakedude 1168231139That it was not a poisonous snake, as they are not usually this fast. I shot myself in the foot assuming again; Technically, this is nothing new. I did not shoot the video, it is hard to tell if the head shape is like a rattler/moccasin sort of viper; I just posted it. I tried to get the gal who fwd'd it to me to find out where it came from, so I can turn the guy onto producer awards. He richly deserves some. This amount of comments and yet so few profane, selfish angry hate comments. I am proud of the energy such an innocent video engenders. Metacafe actually has a human, non warring populace. Thanks for responding. A coworker today found out he has leukemia, he is younger than I am. These comments are reassuring for sure.
By Mr.Science. 1168317260Yeah this was filmed in texas but there are other snakes in texas other than rattlesnakes. So next time before you decide to go ranting about the subject first figure out what your ranting about.
By tobers 1175048035i was thinkin jack rabbit when i read that, i've never seen a cotton tail do anything even remotely interesting..they just run
By GuitarM252 1168206058I got this from Dee in Texas; it is no fake. I asked her to help me find the videographer responsible for this clip, it was not mine. She ignored me. It is now on google video with 291 views; I commented there hoping the original video'er might see how much passion has been poured into his work, that he might be paid via the producer's rewards program. He is due. The fake Christian she pretends to be, who liked it and sent it on, gave no attention at all in seeing him be compensated as he should be. Please- I want him to be accounted for. This is precious, he is due.
Anyone want to disagree?
Go away. This is a family friendly video, not your billboard for graffiti. Comment on the video or be removed in 24 hours or less.
By Mr.Science. 1174582235It is because most animal with babies tend to be aggresive. Most likely the rabbit has babies somewhere nearby. So it is merely trying to protect it at all cost.
By mastersurf 1172587812To this end I just put out a probe so that the folks who got this prescient video ought be paid for it.
By Mr.Science. 1168145218A coworker saw this and said thats where she saw it first. My wish is that the filmer sees it here and I will tell them how to claim producer rights, that they make some well deserved, family friendly money. There is more gentle insight in the comments here than on most videos on Metacafe; I am proud to have been part of this forum. Glad you all enjoyed it as I did......
By Mr.Science. 1175140808could be rabbit got babies to protect?
By sunnee 1168157027Was this rabbit cast in "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"
Now that rabbit was insane.
you will klimb that tree even faster..hahaha
5 Stars
And your spelling speaks volumes about you....no need for that comment and I'm not even from Texas.
By tomsucks86 1205990457Look there it is. That's no ordinary rabbit, that's the most foul and cruel bad tempered rodent that you'd ever set your eyes on!... Look that rabbit has a killer streak a mile away, IT's A KILLER!
LOL
Watch the Video Carefully, in the early part where the rabbit attacks the snake actually coils up ready for the next strike on the rabbit...think u can do that with a fake snake on a piece of line..?? No nor do I and as for the guy behind the tree, No I didn't see him either...you all been on LSD...???
By SUNBUM 1168486395Too bad Bi***y1 didn't get what owned meant. Control freaks rarely want to own up to what their actions speak to. Denial remains more than an Egyptian River.
By Mr.Science. 1168321256gangsta. He straight up punked that snake. :))
This brings up another thought - does this means that Bugs Bunny was originally from the South?
this is one of the funniest videos i have seen in awhile.
By wiscojwp 1168228185tell your friend you bought a guard, he will ask what guard, dog?no rabbit! :p
By d4rkdemongr 1251056133The snake in this video is a texas rat snake, and a very large example of the species. This guy has probably eaten many juvenile rabbits in it's day.
Hest
The rat snake (called a bullsnake, nonpoisenous) if he had not got int the tree. I have seen pheasant hens kill bullsnakes.
By MosesBlack 1201989866Lets see if I got this straight. Cool, stupid rabbit? Are you maybe anthrpromorphising the rabbit with your self loathing or what?
By Mr.Science. 1192678285more than the rabbit the guy who is laughing ,made me laugh more ,he is funny ,see im still laguhing
By chaos_o0o 1174141003It's rare to see something naturally happening that's as funny as f**k!
By ErrFutDer 1173487002Just great. Straight up no cheesy "actors" trying to making it on this sites. Great clip!
By ND4SPD 1172457146...but this is not a new concept. I am from north west and have seen this in real life. Not just a texas thing. Rabbits aren't the timid creatures we think. They're just smart.
By No reason 1172380200Is a funny video..i am rating to 5:)) Can you believe this?
By Daniel Cristian 1171986283omg that rabbit rulles man.. i would love a rabbit like that , nice 1 man.. *radicle*
By slainednoob 1171545721just look for that agility, hahaha amazing,
think that the law of jungle has changed now..lool
THAT IZ FUNNY AZ F**K A SNAKE CLIMBING A TREE COZ A RABBIT IZ SCARING IT OFF
By fry863 1170448218this is the kind of video i wanted in my meta cafe..i can't wait 2 show this 2 my cousin...he'll laugh a lot cuz of the snake..but still its really cool
By lililu 1169811158I think he was protecting its territory. He knows the snake is a dangerous predator and not good to be that area. Most probably its nest and kids were there nearby. But still it is a very unusual action by a rabbit. Congratulations to the camara man.
By suntop 1169503801That must be Bugs Bunny!!!! Or another rabbit searching for Adrenaline!!!!
By andy_bv 1168625206your laughing was almost as entertaining as the rabbit! Brilliant video.
By Doristoo 1168459404I am still seeking the actual videographer. I am not him, I just posted a beautiful piece I was emailed. Those who sent it I asked to reflect my appreciation; No such luck. Baptists seem to be too opportunistic to server their bretheren.
By Mr.Science. 1168496843Now that's a brave rabbit!! Maybe, I should get rid of my pit bull, and get a rabbit that has balls!!!hahaha!!!
By bear007 1168366241Mother rabbits do not, those just make em arrogant and lazy. Male rabbits are quite unlikely to respond with this passion. Females must, sorry.
By Mr.Science. 1168497595My boxer dog will ran full speed away, and now you tell me that I can have a tiny cute bunny that eats rattlesnakes? Got something to do with Duracell? Where can I get those crazy rabbits?
By eldudef 1168325190And offer her your home. What could be easier?
By Mr.Science. 1168326139i live in houston and i go to my grandparents farm sometimes and i ave never seen anything like this, this video was awesome we need more like this
By andy b0x 1168315955rabbit attack a snake and snake climb a tree?? something u dont see everyday.. or am i drunk?
By coldconcerto 1168287630Rabbits sure can fight never mind the snake hecould have a nice meal
By mapleleafan117 1168276610I believe it's a bull snake or a similar nonvenemous species. At the beginning the snake doesnt move like a rattler who move in a straighter line. And rattler's aren't the type to go running into trees; they would more like go into holes or under rocks. There is no rattle on the tail but it looks like it's vibrating in a similar fashion, just as Bull snakes do to imitate rattlers. It's an easy booboo to mis-ID a snake if the creator of the vid doenst know about them.
Either way, the clip is hilarious.
not the first time I have shot myself in the foot for sure. I also rejoined jimmy2heads, be aware.
By Mr.Science. 1168321449...but don't let Jimmy2heads see your comment, he blasted me for being too technical with mine earlier.
The video was a riot though!
We have a world of witness. In these times, what more could we wish for, my brother? Other than a coworker struck down by leukemia coming back to work?
By Mr.Science. 1168497045awesome wabbit..
do these guys live anywhere else? never heard strange wabbits like dis one before? is that for real?
Interesting video. The most likely reason for this unusual behaviour would be that this rabbit is trying to drive the snake away from some baby rabbits. Mother animals can be very aggressive towards predators when the young are nearby.
By x234 1168220320Though the video shooter assumes it is a male, a male has much less at stake here. Her cunning revelation to get the rear and attack reinforces this notion. Rattlesnakes are not as strong nor fast as many non poisonous snakes; they dont need to be, they are poisonous. This snake became aware of its weaknesses here, and thus took flight.
By Mr.Science. 1168228482I need to know where in texas you got your attack rabbit. I've got some carrots that I can't keep under control.
By a monkey named spank 1168194856a mouse beating the living crap out of a hipo...
By didinho 1168181170Where he hell was this shot, and who has ever heard of an attack rabbit.
By Hail01 1168045418I am doing all I can to find out. The videographer should be noted and paid well.
By Mr.Science. 1168497310yeah, animals there are so friendly they dont even imagine getting attacked... im serious ive lived there for 4 years
By Great ME 1168223866They run a little hotter in Texas. Rabbitude is best respected down there.
By Mr.Science. 1168046134ya no suban este tipo de porqueria de videos,, hasta me dan ganas de borrar el metacafe de mi computadora
By felbal 1168381147what anyone says that rabbit is on some type of drugs.
By Iwasavictim 1168251368hopefully you learn something, Main.
