  • thats the kind of clips we need more of ...

that one should be in the producer awards.

    By Ashtonsantiago 1168138271
    • Wow...

From a fellow Texan, thanks for sharing this. I would never guess that a rabbit would own a snake. Was that a rattler? If so, the rabbit will (sadly) probably die from the venom. She was probably protecting her babies. That was great video. Wish we could see more like this one....it just shows we can be entertained without trash & profanity. It reminds me of the one on here where the cat jumps out and scares the heck out of a black bear.

    • good video

i love his laugh when the snake tried climbing up the tree haha made me laugh

      By pave7 1168389902
    • did you see a rattle on its tail?

theyre called rattlesnakes for a reason. just because its in the south doesnt mean every snake is a rattler

      By carolinapanthers10 1171819090
    • Did you see a rattle on it's tail?

Look Mr. Wad, the quality of the video was so poor, it was hard to tell it was a snake and rabbit.

      By KLBSR22150 1246297217
    • While that is true...

A rattler can have 2 or 3 buttons and you will not see them unless you have Superman vision....or if the snake will be kind enough to hold off striking you while you get close enough to look. They also shed their skin several times a year and are without a rattle for a while after this shedding. The skin pattern looks like a rattler.

      By nyeTRUM 1171736424
    • as a scientist I would have to see a bit...

before assuming the rabbit was hurt. Given the energetic leaps by the rabbit, if the rattler's teeth actually engaged the rabbit, it would tend to pull the snake with it. It did not. The neurotoxins in a rattler tend to stop their prey, not make em methlike, otherwise the snake would be harming itself to bite its prey, no?

      By Mr.Science. 1168208806
    • Rattlesnake venom

Rattlesnakes, copperheads and watermocasins all have HEMOTOXIC venom. The only North America snake with a neurotoxic venom is the coral snake.

      By mjollnir41 1173676077
    • Well- live and learn....

Cool insight. I have yet to be bit by any poisonous snakes so I was not hip to this fact. Good Call!

      By Mr.Science. 1173717787
    • Most likely Non-venomous anyway.

Why must everyone assume it's a rattlesnake? They're not exactly an arboreal species you know!

      By snakedude 1168231139
    • That is now my bet;

That it was not a poisonous snake, as they are not usually this fast. I shot myself in the foot assuming again; Technically, this is nothing new. I did not shoot the video, it is hard to tell if the head shape is like a rattler/moccasin sort of viper; I just posted it. I tried to get the gal who fwd'd it to me to find out where it came from, so I can turn the guy onto producer awards. He richly deserves some. This amount of comments and yet so few profane, selfish angry hate comments. I am proud of the energy such an innocent video engenders. Metacafe actually has a human, non warring populace. Thanks for responding. A coworker today found out he has leukemia, he is younger than I am. These comments are reassuring for sure.

      By Mr.Science. 1168317260
    • Who said it was a rattlesnake?

Yeah this was filmed in texas but there are other snakes in texas other than rattlesnakes. So next time before you decide to go ranting about the subject first figure out what your ranting about.

    • Please note this comment

I got this from Dee in Texas; it is no fake. I asked her to help me find the videographer responsible for this clip, it was not mine. She ignored me. It is now on google video with 291 views; I commented there hoping the original video'er might see how much passion has been poured into his work, that he might be paid via the producer's rewards program. He is due. The fake Christian she pretends to be, who liked it and sent it on, gave no attention at all in seeing him be compensated as he should be. Please- I want him to be accounted for. This is precious, he is due.

      Anyone want to disagree?

      By Mr.Science. 1168496116
    • To all who would try to advertise their ...

Go away. This is a family friendly video, not your billboard for graffiti. Comment on the video or be removed in 24 hours or less.

      By Mr.Science. 1174582235
    • It is because

It is because most animal with babies tend to be aggresive. Most likely the rabbit has babies somewhere nearby. So it is merely trying to protect it at all cost.

      By mastersurf 1172587812
    • I fully agree

To this end I just put out a probe so that the folks who got this prescient video ought be paid for it.

    • Should be

      on AFV!

      By mobeyjoe22 1168158654
    • I dont watch tv but

A coworker saw this and said thats where she saw it first. My wish is that the filmer sees it here and I will tell them how to claim producer rights, that they make some well deserved, family friendly money. There is more gentle insight in the comments here than on most videos on Metacafe; I am proud to have been part of this forum. Glad you all enjoyed it as I did......

Rabbits sure can fight never mind the snake hecould have a nice meal

    By mapleleafan117 1168276610
  • Bull Snake

I believe it's a bull snake or a similar nonvenemous species. At the beginning the snake doesnt move like a rattler who move in a straighter line. And rattler's aren't the type to go running into trees; they would more like go into holes or under rocks. There is no rattle on the tail but it looks like it's vibrating in a similar fashion, just as Bull snakes do to imitate rattlers. It's an easy booboo to mis-ID a snake if the creator of the vid doenst know about them.

Either way, the clip is hilarious.

    texas rabbits DO rule

    By mostwanted269 1168240965
  • Defending its young

Interesting video. The most likely reason for this unusual behaviour would be that this rabbit is trying to drive the snake away from some baby rabbits. Mother animals can be very aggressive towards predators when the young are nearby.

    By x234 1168220320
    • You got that right

Though the video shooter assumes it is a male, a male has much less at stake here. Her cunning revelation to get the rear and attack reinforces this notion. Rattlesnakes are not as strong nor fast as many non poisonous snakes; they dont need to be, they are poisonous. This snake became aware of its weaknesses here, and thus took flight.
