Today at the National Zoo in Washington DC a baby deer jumped into the lion enclosure and was pounced on by the tigers. Although the Bambi-esque deer made an escape its wounds were, in the end, fatal and the deer was euthanized.

    to hear the deer did not survive & had to be put down. but what i want to know is HOW DID THE DEER GET IN THE LION ENCLOSURE? what fool at the zoo was not being careful that day unless they palnned it fromthe beginning. one less deer to look after & give the people that day a thrill they woudln't forget. at least the children got an early lesson on the facts of life that day...not like you see on TV with the cation bewarned viewing may cause some viewers distress from the facts of life.
