Criss Angel Walks Through Glass

Criss Angel is a magician /illusionist!! Yes for the people that totally take his side for him doing everything real, I agree with you. Some of his stunts are real, BUT also, some of the things he does are not "fake" But an illusion. His Job is to freak out your mind. Some things are real, and some are fake.. and really it's up to you to decide. But it's not all ONE solid answer. This is a great illusion but requires tons of set-up.
1. the "paper holders" are in on it. They hold the paper in a way so as not to press against the glass
2. The "found" paper was planted, and is ridgid enough to be held taut
3. The glass is actually cut to the shape of the letter "U", with the open end of the "u" on the bottom--an upside-down "u"
4. The open sign is not attached to the glass, but is fixed to look as though it is.
5. The "U" shaped cut is critical because it shows the solid glass on both sides of the paper, BUT NOT THE BOTTOM. Holding the paper so that it covers the bottom of the window frame is critical- it makes or breaks the trick--as well a positioning the paper so that glass is visible on both sides of it
6. The next critical thing is CLEAN GLASS. It must be spotless, immaculate, otherwise you would see a dirtline or lint rising up as the glass is pulled up into the specially made frame. This is why the paper holders don't press the paper against the glass--they must hold it just off from the glass and not touch the glass with their hands or the paper.

Some of you have said he slides the glass up while the paper is in front of it... for one, if he did that, the people in front would have noticed it. Second, the left side [our left] is still visible and you can see that it never moves. If it did slide, the light would reflect differently as it moved.

Those who are complaining and calling Criss a fake, can you Walk Threw Glass? Can you do the illusions he can do? Make a video then send it to me. I like to see. Criss is one of the greatest illusionist of our time. Hes full of talent and I wish him the best in his future. Hopefully he will be taking his show on the road.

It amazes me how many people feel the need to tear down things and people. Relax!! Sit back and enjoy the show!! Sheesh! Illusion has always been and always will be fascinating and mind bending when it is good, and what is 'good' is subjective depending on the sophistocation of the audience. Do you think that it was an illusion when Criss was suspended by fish hooks by a helicopter? I don't think so. That was totally real. And when he got hit by the Amazing Jonathan on his show. That was real too. So all you people who think what he does is fake, get a life. He's considered a mindfreak not really an illusionist, get it right.

i've seen him do this and it is real it's not a stunt it's actually real. i've also seen him walk down a 40 story building without and kind of saftly net or harness what so ever...... he's really amazing.... if you would like to see more of the stuff he does watch on cable on channel a & e wednesdays at 9:00 central time and be amazed.....

I have seen this dude do some amazing tricks I will find the video where he swallows a quarter and cuts it out of his arm with the lady's signature on it. I know I have clips somewhere where he levitates. He has a show on Tv in the USA called Mindfreak.

I believe an interior pane slides up from the floor. The store owner is in on it. When the paper goes up, the interior pane slides up. After he does his deal, the pane slides back down. My two cents.

Yes he is an illusionist, but don’t be fooled, there are a few dead giveaway of how fake it is. But first some general science.
He reasoned that as glass is a liquid, which it is, a very viscous one, therefore he is able to move through. Ok let’s go with his logic. So let’s look at viscosity. Firstly you put your hand through water, not very viscous, you get wet. You put your hand through honey, very viscous, you get it stuck to you, and it’s very hard to get off. Ok glass, extremely viscous, in order to permeate the glass, which he did, he would likely displace most of it over his body; it wouldn’t be back in the same place. But let’s roll with the idea that if you go through glass it will reform after you leave.
So the dead give aways where these.
It is obvious the glass has been replaced or exchanged during the clip.
Evidence for the exchange of glass panels is as follows:
1. Notice how he taps the window at the begin; the tone is allot higher as the panel is allot tighter fit. Skip to the end and you will notice the glass rattles.
2. He makes such a huge fuss about keeping the camera rolling to make you see he wasn’t pulling anything. Then for no apparent reason he goes, got to take off my shoes, and the camera zooms right in on his shoes taking your attention away from the panel. Also it’s accelerated. Meaning you can’t hear what’s going.
3. If you watch you can see the centre of the paper moving before he attempt to transverse the glass. This is not particularly obvious
4. When he goes to pick move the crate they cut the film. It is here they changed the panel. The panel is simply the window with a large circle cut out of it that is slightly smaller than the paper
5. Listen carefully to the knocks on the glass at 1:05. Notice that the centre knock gives the highest pitch. However, if play around on your window and know a little physics you can see that it should have the lowest pitch as it has the longest effective length. Not sure what this means.
6. HUGE! Give away is when he is exiting the window at 3:02 you will notice his foot hits the glass as it leaves, skipping over and pushing through the paper. Obviously he hit the side of the cut out.
7. You may find it odd how as he first punctures the paper, a small rectangular frame where the two people are holding the paper hardly moves. Also more surprisingly the boarder of the paper just seems to not tear. In fact it ruptures in the x plane, and given the tension put on by the people pulling the two ends apart you would expect this tear to get bigger faster, but it slows down, and force is continued to be put on it and instead it tears in the Y direction and stops at a similar distance. Odd?
Some other things too, but its late in aus, and i need to get back to engineering report. Was fun though. Let me know what you think of my ideas.

In all Criss Angel's magic he use some actors or his own people, which is very bad.......No.: 1 - The man & the lady who were holding the paper got no face impression until Criss come out fully. No.:2 - The guy inside, u can see him moving quickly when Criss showed the glass is not broked.

These three persons played a vital roll to make this trick happen........

simply what they did is use a large glass that had a huge whole at the bottom that's behind the wall. as soon as the put the paper on the glass they slowly move the glass upwards, and the used that OPEN sing attached to the wall to make it look like it's on the glass that way they wouldn't notice it's moving.once he gets through the wall they quickly put the glass down. the man that entered the building knew about the trick, and just made him look surprized, so it could fool the people

The best tricks are usually the most disappointing when worked out because they end up so obvious once you know. The window is not the kind of window you have at home. It opens in the middle of the glass. Why do you think he hides it with paper. Because he needs to hide something temporary so he can climb through. Blaine did this trick with his hand and paper too if you can still remember him. Thank you!

what happens is when the paper is on the glass.....there is a person underneath inside the room...they have the glass slit to where they can remove it....when the paper is on they take the glass out...that is when he gets out...but as soon as he is out they put the glass back on...easy enough..post back if you disagree or agree.

It's simple idk y no sees or hears it the guy form the store is in on it. The glass is real but he doesn't go thru it he simply pushes it up and if you listen at i believe 1:49 you can here the sound. So he reasies the window and goes thru and the assistan puts it down before anyone can see it.

He is indigo. He understands that matter is the illusion and that everything is energy and he is able to manifest or change the matter vibration with his mind at will which allows him to 'transcend' through it. Tesla invented a machine to transcend the 4th dimension for the Philadelphia Experiement...but we don't need machines, with the activation of the other 3/4 portions of our brains we too can do what he is doing. Some can acheive it through meditation, move objects with telepathic means, etc. while others are 'born' with this recognized ability we are all capable of.

It is not an illusion. He is doing it in a 3D reality.

Listen when people do "tricks" And i use that term lightly because there are ways to do it "for real" and there are ways to do it "FAKE".....but does it even mater? YES! it does! it was real they should be teaching it to other people so our world can prosper, and if it's fake we should know it and we should not waste our time figuring it out.

If you really think you can, couse I'm not going to, you can think of how he went through the glass, I'm just going to help. Think logically. He had to have gone through the area that the paper was over. there is no other possible way. Therefore, there couldn't have been any glass in that area when he went through. I don't know how he did it specifically, but I know that there was no glass behind the paper at some point, unless you actually think he went through glass! lol !

This "trick" is done very simple if u have an advanced level of TK (telekinesis). I've read that with an advanced level of TK (like Criss') this stuff is very easily done. And for those that say that TK doesn't exist......... well maybe they've tried and didn't succed, or they don't understand the true power of the Brain ;)

I't s so easy to do magic with cameras it's not even good. Half of his tricks are just Cooperfield tricks twisted a little. He's good at it but he's just doing magic tricks.

It's easy to figure out how he did this. Just think. Why did the other guy go in? Why did he take off his shoes? The other guy opened the window while Criss takes off his shoes as a distractor to give his "assistant" time to do the dirty work. And notice how the people holding the paper held it perfect with the paper not touching the glass. And notice that Criss gives him plenty of time to close the window back up. Easy. But I was baffeled the first time I saw this!!! Go Criss!!!!

How better to present yourself in this world of CGI and grand illusions than to be a magician or an "illusionist"? Did it ever cross anyones mind that perhaps his (so called) tricks like walking through glass or hanging over a tall building defying gravity might be so realistic because they are no illusion at all? He gaves me the willies from the first time I saw him. And don't go calling me some holy-roller because I'm not. But this is no Copperfield stunt, and I call it as I see it.

the dude that goes in with him is in with the trick. the glass has a panel that slides open and he steps through. but he is a great magician and the entertainment is what counts.

If you notices, the paper is slightly narrower than the window. The left side of the glass is always visible from top to bottom and you can see the reflections in the glass the entire time. Also you'll notice that there is a sign in the window that says open. This is to lead you to assume that the sign is taped or somehow attached to the glass. When the paper is placed over the lower side of the window, slightly to the right, the glass slides upwards revealing a hole that is not visible to anyone behind the paper and is concealed below the window opening inside the wall. The hole is smaller than the paper so you can't see it. Once he goes throuh the window the glass drops back down and there is no longer a hole. It's just a simple guillotine design.

have you ever seen the trick with the little frame that when you put the two card on both sides the locking mechanism is released and the glass slides up and theres a whole. Well the glass is the same way. the paper was put over the glass so people woukdn't notice that the whole appears. The window was rigged specialy for this illusion. if you noticed Criss also did another trick previously in one of his other episodes in front of this same building. He obviously knows the people that own and they set up gimmicks for him.

I dont know but , i think there were two parts to the glass window.. the lower half is under the open sign, which stood as a marker for the people to carefully hold the paper, and shadow the reflections on the middle-lower part of the window where there was a chamber to slide the window down, the volunteers, held the paper to the sides of the glass that was still there.

I do not know wether or not he simply does a very good illusion or if Criss posseses somthing "else". But one thing is sure that we cannot assume to know how he does his acts. We have no way of knowing beacuse he doesnt want us to. He's better at hiding his secrets than we are at discovering them. And by simply fight over "how" he does these things is a waste of time. Magik is real. It can be used. If you don't believe in it than oh well. Just don't go around saying other people is fake. If you didn't see it in person than don't say anything about it. People still have parts of the brain that we don't use. If we unlock the full potential of the brain we can do extrodinary things. This is what I think. Magik is real.

He can only do this supernatural act by the use of devil spirits. There's only 2 spiritual powers at work on earth, the true God of Jesus Christ (holy spirit) and the Devil (devil spirits). Both Angel and Blane use the same evil power for their advancement. The True God has a MUCH larger ability and can cast out devil spirits so easily. When a person believes in the name and power of Jesus Christ, devil spirirts HAVE to go. (I John 4:4)

After watching this video, I have a theory: it could be two sheets of glass sandwiched together - the outside sheet could have a hole cut into it big enough to fit thru, while the inside sheet would be a full sheet either able to slide away, or hinge at the top of the frame. This would allow reflections in the glass all the way around the paper. BTW - I have worked with glass and it is very easy to hide a hole in a sheet when you have another sheet of glass behind it.

He is a illusionist. It is a illusion.It is like art or sports it is to let us get away from the real life for a while and say wow that was cool. For one thing it does take skill and years of practice.Just enjoy it and do not disect it. He is not hurting anyone some people our just jealous. Everyone is assuming that this is a REAL pane of glass. Let's assume now that it was thin plexi-glass, but strong enough when pulled tight by the inner window panes on the left and right to give the illusion of real glass when tapped gently!

If this is true then while he is inside the room WITH the accomplice, then all the accomplice would have to do is pull the two sides of the INNER window panes from the bottom outwards and bend the plexi-glass upwards while Chris goes through, then bends it back to it's original position before returning to the back of the room to appear as though he had not been near the window or involved. As a matter of fact, Chris could easily do this himself without any help at all as the panes would be on a spring mechanism to return to their original position anyways. And the bent plexi-glass would wish to return to it's normail state also like a rubber band after being stretched.

You can very easily purchase incredibly clear, rigid yet flexible and bendable plexi-glass for just such an illusion almost anywhere.

This would seem to me to be the easiest and most plausible explanation offered for this magic trick yet although it is just my oppinion and of course open to debate. I'm sure though with this theory I could do this same miraculous looking illusion myself tomorrow with about an hours worth of preparation.

Just before being ordered to not to pan away or cut, the camera man zooms in, pans away, and cuts only seconds later. We have a break in continuity and that makes a video recorded performance of this sort an exercise in silliness.

I've done a fire walk several times. It was "impossible". My conclusion? I want to know how to get financially solvent.. that's something I've got a LOT more resistence to believing, than walking on fire. I DID the fire walks. I'm managing to get there on the financial stuff. Reality is relative to your belief system. I can do "impossible" stuff, if I don't have a whole belief system in the way. I can't do the simple S**t , because I DO have a belief system in the way. Go figure.

I need to grab some paper...OH LOOK AT THAT. Paper sitting right here, perfectly clean sitting in the dumpster. Guys come on...the paper is obviously fake. You can buy the paper at your local dollar stores. It sends high frequency waves that make the window move so quickly that he is able to walk through. Then when the paper is taken off the window it returns to it's original state.

If glass surface is clear and movement is in one direction ( up and down ) you wouldn'y see any reflections changes. Especialy camera is moving all the time.

ima agree with whoever said the upside down "u" theory it makes the most since to me and for those who have levitation questions when criss levitates into the air the trick is dependant on camera angles and wires the wires are edited out after it is filmed i have done research on levitation and when criss levitated from building to building if you watch the quality of the film changes alot in certain angles and looks really rough and my theory on that would have to be somekind of setup with wires and editing or green screening certain things out ....another thing would be walking on water it is clearly some sort of plexiglass hes walkin on when u see him from the side and when it shows the top view you can see hes suspended by wires and hes not even walking hes just moving his feet to make it appear and is not doing a very good job at it and if you notice when he kicks of his shoe for it to sink he takes an extra big step over the cut out spot of plexiglass it is all different timing and different angles and i like to watch it but im not sure why so many people believe its magic when we all know about movie magic and dont believe in king kong or godzilla when we see them on the big screen or people flyin in movies....so why believe something we watch on tv its the same scenario...am i right?

I'm a really open person, and I'm one of those guys who believes in both wierd S**t happening and illusions. This is an illusion. But a lot of those things that he does, like flying from building to building, are hard to explain. He had a gurl lie down on a bench with two other gurls pulling at her, then criss did some karate thing on the girls waist and one of the gurl pulled too much and the girl on the bench cut in half. It was freaky. The upper half of the girl's body started "crawling" around without the lower half of her body. It was the freakiest and craziest trick ive ever seen. Could someone please explain to me. It looked so real.

I watched the first show of season 2 tonight and twice he made someone vanish, a person he said he picked at random and had never met before. The effect was amazing and I am truly mystified, but I know it has to be an illusion. However, both times he did this tonight, you never see the person who vanished return, either from the same spot they vanished, or from somewhere else. That bothered me, why they didn't show that. And, my big question is if the person is truly a complete stranger, then by being the person who vanishes, they would know what happened to them. They would know how the illusion is performed. They know where they went, if indeed they went anywhere at all, right? They would tell everyone they know about this and what happened to them, right?

Any of you ever heard of camera editing? Angel is totally fake, about 60% of his stuff are either camera tricks, editing, or stooges(Paid Actors as spectators). Blaine, on the other hand is real, you can actually walk up to him and he will be able to amaze you anytime, anywhere. He's done magic for both the New York Knicks and the Dallas Cowboys on his specials, nobody can pay them to act, David Blaine is real. Especially his stunts, real tests of endurance, no trickery.

He actually walks through the glass but the first time he breaks his nose, a horrible mess. Depressed, he waits until time travel is invented where he goes back in time to the other side of the glass, a moment before he hits it and there you go- it looks like hes walking through. But hes actually just bending time instead.

The human body is just made up of vibrations, as everything in teh physical world is. Some people can manage to control the vibrations of themselvs and the world around them to make things happen. My plea is that if you are a magician keep your work private and do not destroy the hope and dreams of others that follow in the footsteps of many other magicians that came before. And yes that includes Criss Angel and David Blaine and Copperfield they got inspiration from somewhere. there is a sliding glass panel which pulls down enabling criss to walk through. The only reason to have the paper held in front of the window is to stop you seeing that panel being slid down. It has nothing else to do with this trick.

He is a great manipulator of energy. A very highly experienced "magician" These are not illusions. What he is doing is real, as real as we can see it. As real as this reality will let it be. they slide up the window, you see the top of the glass, but as there are little marks on it and your not looking at it, you wont notice it sliding.

The window looks like it is about 3 feet tall. It's probably 6' with a hole in it. The paper is held tight (not against the glass) and the entire window slides up to expose the segment with the hole. (You'll notice how particular they are about holding the paper, even after he climbs out, until the window is lowered again.
They're all in on it, and it comes off very well!!!

Newsflash, the magic consumer's eye gets more and more advanced and harder to fool as time goes on. Without skeptics and naysayers, magic as an art would have died 50 years ago. It's these types of people that force magicians to improve their skills and advance their art.

This is really ridiculous. Here is the bottom line, kids. Criss Angel is an illusionists / street magician, and a clever one in fact. He performs these tricks for your entertainment. All for you. He does not get to enjoy the trick because he puppeteers the whole thing. He already knows the works of the trick, so he performs it for his audience, YOU. So, it's only right to pay him the respect that he deserves, instead of complaining about how he is a "fake". Of course, it is not real, but he delivers the reality defying emotion within us, so we can have that feeling inside us once more, like we did when we were children. Didn't you enjoy that feeling? If you did, then stop ruining it for yourself and others.

The levitation is not real, the back of his two shoes and the back of his two pant legs are velcro'd together, and he simply steps thru a slit in front of one of pant legs and steps up, dragging up the other foot with the two shoes and two pant legs tied together. You can't see the first foot from behind - it is blocked from view. Sure looks real but check how the two shoes and two pants legs hang.

Magic is all about "misdirection" Note the fact that they do not cut filming but certainly pan away and do a close up of him "taking off his shoes".
This is when the plate of glass is replaced with a plate that has a hole in it.
Now. Note the assistant inside who looks "amazed" He is in fact quickly "slapping another plate of glass in time for the magician to tapp on the window.
Please note that this whole trick is staged.....

The guy on the inside was in on the illusion. He was inside to make sure the device was shut properly after Criss exited it. That is why Chriss stood on the baskets for a few seconds before jumping off. If you look closely you can see him right at the window when Chriss jumps down and when the camera pans up he jumps away from the window. None the less Criss is a great illusionist.

The window pane is raised up halfway when he goes inside.
After he climbs out, it is lowered back down.

after reading all this, it really seems like he is an illusionist now, this glass walkin thing.... ok he asks the guy to go inside the building ok? den all of a sudden he comes up with a silly thing to do(lemme take my shoes off...) ok the camera focuses on tha damm shoes!! WHAT ABOUT THE WINDOW???!!? what is the owner doing while the camera focuses clearly on the shoes.... obviously sliding the window open, closely watch as how LONG it takes him to take his damm 14 inch boots off... so long they ACTUALLY fast fowarded the damm thing....if your also wondering how they slided back the window ... notice at how small the hole is. and for about briefly 2 seconds he covers up the hole with his body and the paper...

I am an experienced magician and, let me tell you, no matter what you think, this is an illusion. EVERY single magic trick is fake. You have no idea how simple magic tricks are! They are so simple that you always think of a complicated explanation. Magicians just mess with your minds and blur the line between illusion and reality. For example, if you've ever seen self-vanish on the street, that is completely fake.

1) Great illusion. Really good job.

2) Of course it is an illusion, that's what the guy does for a living. As does David Blaine and many other entertainers for tousands of years.

3) There is always a big setup, the "stage" is set well before-hand. Someone there is on on it. The audience folk are real, they are genuinely reacting to the illusion.

4) The window has some mechanism in it which allows the performer to get through and then have the solid panel quickly slide back into place. Just like tricks involving magician's boxes onstage and hundreds of others.

5) Sure, it's fun to see this sort of thing, even when you know it is (OF COURSE) not actual "magic". It is, in fact, massive skill perfomed by a guy who has worked tirelessly for years to perfect these illusions.

* People are generally right, if it were ever real, there would never be any need for the "setup". ;) So, if a person just walks right past you and through a store window in the middle of the street, THEN

Notice that as he says make it a continuous shot he needs to take his shoes off. Why would you do that?!?!? why doent he take the rest of his clothes off. maybe he has to because of Hindu Origins before entering a house. Also, why does the other person need to enter the house. SURELY he would like to see Criss do the trick from the outside....

If it was not a trick, he would have done it without the paper blocking the camera from recording him going through the glass.

It is a good trick. I would believe it to be real if I seen it in person without the paper to hide what he is doing. Maguc tricks use deception to move a person attention away from what is really ocurring.

yeah its fake. listen to his voice when he goes inside and closes the door. sounds exactly the same as it did when he was outside. had there really been glass there, his voice would be muted or distorted

This guy for some reason irritates me. His illusions are too over the top to be any good IMHO. I'm not impressed by TV magic anyway. Camera edits, stooges do not make for good magic.

This is impossible unless there is hole in the pane. Thats why he puts a paper to hide it from you, when he is passing through. But when they remove the paper, it's a new window pane with no hole.
