Bad bad bad accident. I am quite sure the driver couldn't make it.
October 11, 2005
Car Racers Bruce Allen and Kenny Koretsky Collide
Both drivers escape relatively unscathed after Motorplex crash.
Arlington driver Bruce Allen and Pro Stock racer Kenny Koretsky escaped one of the worst racing accidents in recent memory with fewer injuries than they might incur falling off a stepladder.
Allen has a concussion, a black eye and a cut hand. Koretsky has a bruised chest and a sore neck. Most of the people who saw the crash Friday night at Texas Motorplex expected much worse.
people who know nothing about a sport should'nt bash it, I race and trust me, the torque steer from one of those cars must be insane, they are very skilled!
By KingSVT 1130978857yeah the most done damage was one of them had a hurt leg. i was there it was really scary. it took them like an hour to clean the track. neither has raced since. bruce retired but as far as i know ken plans to race again
By hemisan 1167719627OOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWYYYYYYYYYY
poor guy! amazing stuff ripped his whole care apart UNREAL!!
I like racing i like to watch it but i bet sometime in the future the races will be cut shorter or some races wont happen or they'll race hybrid cars
By TToonnyy 1153172832the impact must be real great at such a velocity! the car practically shattered!
By blue snail 1150863244just shows your ignorance. Do you really think that racing is why gas prices are high? If you don't like racing, just say so, but don't come up with clueless comments like that. Damn, I hate dumb people.
By Marino fan 1149641012xzop,
Another yuppie more concerned about his gas for
his SUV .What a loser!!!!!
you think these type of cars run on GAS! do some research first then post, and dont whine about your three bucks a gallon go juice, We up to seven dollars a gallon here and they dont whine half as much as some you guys. I cant wait to get back home to kansas, i'm gonna buy anything that does 10 to the gallon and enjoy it.
By dont believe a word 1152315410The NBA , NFL , MLB must indirectly account for more fuel consumption than all racing events combined due to their popularity . Think about it .
By akhil111 1151354662while I cannot agree that racing is a waistage of gas.
By blue snail 1150863354did you know, the best selling car in the world is a 5 litre ford pickup truck in (yeh u guessed) AMERICA. and you think THIS is raising gas prices????????
holy cow maan, open your eyes you stoopid yankie boy
The Best Selling car in the World is a 5 litre ford pickup truck in america. Haha You're funny!
meant to say racing, not acing. guess I didn't hit the key hard enough. Thought I'd better correct myself, before some one else did , after all this site is just as bad on correcting the other guys words as rating the videos. sigh!!!!!!
By lgrimshaw_001 1137300099...it's really tough to steer a car in a straight line for 5 seconds.
By mau'dib 1136927563I was there watching when it happen!!! All that happen to him was a broken wrist and a think a rib!! VERY LUCKY!! He is already back at racing and is doing fine!!
By BondRACING 1135887653I'v seen meany such crashes, It's part of the sport. Why don't they put a clear wall
down the middle of the track, Six inch thick, and six feet tall,Plexiglass would
do the trick. But fans would bitch, that's
why. It' all part of the show, The drivers
know this.
THAT'S how safe these cars are! And to the moron that wrote "why race when you can't drive", strap yourself into one of these , brave boy! In fact, Bruce Allen has been inducted into the Michigan Motor Sorts Hall of Fame and has had a long a very successful career.
By 1131825084Not only did Bruce Allan live, he walked away. In fact it was later put in the paper, people who have fallen off step ladders have been hurt worse.
By 1129990937If you people like this kind of races is not for the skill of the pilots but for the taste of the almost sure tragedy that will eventually happen...
Go back to F-1 please...
It has nothing to do with his driving - unless you have personally driven at 300 miles an hour keep your trap shut. One of those tires lets go and it does not matter where your front wheels are - i've been in similiar situations. You happen to hit a slick patch on the pavement and just like that your flying into the wall even though your steering wheel is hard the other direction. P.S. most of the skill involved is in designing and building the vehicles. No matter what you say, it takes a hell of lot more skill and engineering to build an engine that produces 8000 hp and 10000 rpm in under an hour than it does to make a F-1 engine run even 12000rpm. I've got a friend who works in the pits for an F-1 team and he is constantly amazed at top fuel and dragsters in general because of thier power and meticolous construction.
By TopFuel Driver 1147399242hes one of the greatest drag racing drivers ever, id like to see u try and controll a car going over 250mph
By ManWithPiont 1134170780cant u see that their ging at about 250 miles an hour i wanna see u driving one of those and den well see whoc an drive or not
Arlington driver Bruce Allen and Kenny Kortskey both suffed only minor injuries.
why don't you try to drive a car with a couple of thousends horsepower? damn you! the more you see the less you know! and that crash was'nt that bad, but it could have gone really bad! :( lucky their made it well! :)
By 1129762495as long as you know how to push a peddle down, you can race in this. they could have no stering wheel and it wouldn't make any difference.
By DistantHunter 1130144313U may have to just mash the gas down but u still have to keep the car straight, hit the gears flawlessly, and know when to back down cause of a problem.
By Debo318 1137019748Now admittedly I've never driven anything with Pro Stock 2 power, but when you take off from the standing position at full throttle your back tires will spin. When they do they will try to pass the front tires anyway they can. This causes the car to fishtail and loose traction. You need that steering wheel to keep your back tires behind you. You are all over the wheel in a 350hp car. Watch the video right before Allen slides across the lane this happens, his back tires slide and lose traction. I have only done something like that in a 78 Camaro. I can only imagine that the effects would be worse on a car three times as powerful as it.
By kdsn 1136644095of course they hav a steering wheel, i've bin in ben bray's holden ss ute trust me they hav a steering wheel and even tho this one only had 1500 hp thats still a lot of power to control.
By me217 1131105382...the way the Americans talk about speed and control of their cars and what awesome drivers they are... MYYYY GOOOOOD! In the US your streets are like two miles wide your cars slightly smaller, 10 lanes going one way and you are not allowed to go faster than 75 mph or so, haha. But your still think that you are the sh**, that´s sooo funny. Go to other places of the world and look at the traffic...it´s way more challenging in ANY other places to drive a car than in the US, that is why you may drive at the age of 16.
