    Understand this: there is nothing magic here beyond a beautiful old man who knows exactly how to balance his body and mind. Look at his head, his back, his waist and hips, his rooted stance - and compare with his opponents. They can't move him because he isn't there! He waits until they show a weakness and then shows them where it is... how kind. This is what pushing hands (and taiji) is all about.

      You can see the abscence of alignments and rooting in opponents postures. While this old master has a total balance and he surrounds himself with his own sphere that is hard to penetrate. One thing is that any of the challengers do not seem to know taijiquan. Their body parts are separated and their zhong qi is up in the air. The key sign of people who doesn't really have strong trainings on fundamentals is the unstable knees.

      I noticed that. Aside from the last challenger, the one the master spends some time with, who looks like he's done a little training, the rest are just kids off the street. Would have been nice to see him working with an experienced player.
