Seems like people decide to call everything a "hack" nowadays.... instead of calling it a tip, or a trick....

Hack:

"modifying a device to use it in a way that is different than originally intended"

Didn't modify anything here to make the computer do something it wasn't intended to do....so....not a hack!

Because it doesn't save electricity or cut down your electric bills as much un-plug the power supply from the monitor unit.

As long as minor current still flow thru the monitor, heat still got generated.

I lived in a place whereby electric bills are more expensive than the western or europe country. I have to make my choice of not voting on you.

I sprained my finger by pressing that annoying butttonon the monitor to turn it off. OH THE PAIN! OH THE AGONY! SOMEBODY PLEASE HEEEEEEELP!

Works!!! I have a 17" Dell LCD and have had to return two other ones because the power button (after normal use for a year) will sink in and become hard to use. Helps prolong the life of the monitor
