Im 48 and I can hear my kids phone ring, it's easier to just use vibrate for text msgs because you cant asnwer the phone in class anyway, by the way this technology is used with better results on speakers in many coffee houses to annoy teens and send them packing

My husband and teens can hear it ring, but I cannot hear it and neither can most of my friends. Yes, it can be answered when it rings. I've seen them do it back and forth, without the vibration on.

I heard it.. it's definitely an ultra sound... I was actually surprised to hear it. If I can make a comparison... when I was a kid at school, some classrooms had televisions who were turned on but with no sound, and when I came close to the classroom... I knew there was a tv there because I could hear the high frenquency sound it made.

If somebody else had the same experience, please let me know :)

I download it,... i set it on my phone.... i didn't have time to try to listen to it.
next day... at the office, my cellphone rang, that sound, so embarassing. what an ugly sound, even my grandpa can hear it from outside the room.

... and do you think that a lossy compressed AV file keeps such a a frequency ? MP3 cut higher frequency @13khz, and also does compressed mpeg used by Wmv ... Metacafè use FLV flash format which is a very compressed mpeg...

my dad can hear it perfectly he told me that where he works he takes fitnes test every year and this is part of it and he is 45

The thing is, cell phone speakers are lousy - plus ring tones are compressed so the high frequency stuff is clipped.

Did kids forget that phones have a vibrate mode?
